Grilled salmon, roasted new potatoes, steamed broccoli and cauliflower. Might get fancy and allow the kids some mayo.

I do "international date nights" with my girlfriend, where we pick a country and make some food from it and enjoy a bit of its culture.

Tonight is Bulgaria. We're making tarator (cold cucumber soup) and shopska salad and drinking a Bulgarian mavrud red wine and snacking on kashkaval sheep's cheese. I've gotta introduce my gf to some chalga music while we make dinner, and we'll watch the Bulgarian movie "In the Heart of the Machine" while we eat -- it's about a group of prisoner factory workers in communist-era Bulgaria who find a cat trapped inside of a machine and they have to work together to rescue it.

We had curry, but the rice cooker lied twice about being done so I'm looking into a new rice cooker because this one is naughty sometimes.

I cursed myself by mentioning it yesterday, so I’m having beef shanks braised in homemade tomato sauce with red wine, and homemade fettuccine.

Just got done cutting the pasta. I should be eating in a half hour. I’ve been cooking for two and a half.

I only keep going because I know it will be worth it.

ETA: OMG it was so worth it

Had some leftover bbq from a smokehouse and also some sushi. Time and energy are stuff I don't have anymore.

Don't want to cook tonight. Clotted cream (microwave heavy cream until all the water's gone) on raisin swirl bread and a can of soup.

[–] Skua@kbin.earth 2 points 17 hours ago

Soup and bread is genuinely great if you have them available and don't want to put effort into cooking. It's the right kind of simple and hearty thing that helps when you feel run down

[–] Nemo@slrpnk.net 3 points 1 day ago

A slice of frittata on top of avocado toast and three blueberry muffins

[–] obinice@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Irish Stew with pickled red cabbage on top.

Because I'm lazy and wanted to make something good that'd last a few days.

A Buffalo chicken pizzoli from Marcos. First time I’ve had one, and it was actually really good!
