Sure, that's why so many people are calling it world war epstein right? This article is pure, concentrated cope. The only strategy they have is telling you you aren't thinking about something, which by the way makes you think about that thing. So... mission accomplished?

[–] pjwestin@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

That's a dumb way to frame this. "My interest in resolving my crippling debt dropped 95% when I set my house on fire!" Well, creating and imminent crisis doesn't make you're other problems go away.

[–] FatVegan@leminal.space 3 points 3 hours ago

The mosquito bite didn't bother me at all after i cut my hand off

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 6 points 14 hours ago

Sez who? I haven't forgotten anything, and I mean anything. I'm still holding hard grudges from the first administration.

[–] Sharkticon@lemmy.zip 3 points 14 hours ago

It's up to us, all of us collectively, to keep talking about it as much as possible. Talk to your friends talk to your neighbors post articles call Congressman anything you can

[–] fodor@lemmy.zip 2 points 13 hours ago

What stupid research. But even if those numbers are meaningful now, all they remind us of is that people's interest will return. For example, now we have documents about the security guard who got bribed who falsified the documents. We also have more information about Epstein's brother who lied to federal investigators about what he knew. And we have even more pictures and video of Trump being a sleazy bastard.

Donald thought he could deflect attention, but in the end it will always come back to him and his ultra-rich buddies being horrible human beings. We're not gonna forget that. We're not going to let it go.

Google Trends data

So for me to "stay interested", not only am I supposed to stay at my computer 24/7 and search "epstien files" over and over, I have to use Google to do it as well?

Is the person in charge of calculating unemployment numbers and cost of living increases in charge of this as well?

[–] Snapz@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago

No it doesn't. Keep pretending though

[–] umbrella@lemmy.ml 14 points 1 day ago (2 children)

i don't buy it that they need to bomb iran to "distract from the epstein files"

they wouldn't be prosecuted about it anyway period, and it's not like people are gonna forget we have pedophilic elites.

[–] yogthos@lemmy.ml 8 points 1 day ago

I do imagine there are more fundamental reasons why the US finally decided to attack Iran.

[–] asdasd201@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It's more like those files are used for blackmailing Trump & Co. to attack Iran.

[–] umbrella@lemmy.ml 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

the us has been threatening iran from way before trump was even being considered for presidency.

[–] asdasd201@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yes they do, Iran embargo was way before Trump. But as I understand, Trump was sort of reluctant to attack Iran, and even kidnapped Maduro for distraction.

[–] umbrella@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

trump kidnapped maduro for intimidation, and was just as immune from the epstein stuff then.

i think you guys will have to depose him if you want him to see consequences.

[–] eldavi@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

i think you guys will have to depose him if you want him to see consequences.

too many americans are either too comfortable or too desperate to do this; only a systems collapse caused by either climate change or economic crisis will accomplish this.

[–] umbrella@lemmy.ml 4 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 20 hours ago) (1 children)

then we better hope the oil stuff crashes their economy asap, i really don't want to see what an empire-ending climate change crisis would look like.

[–] eldavi@lemmy.ml 1 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

i suspect that they're going to use nukes once their oil stuff is truly threatened

[–] umbrella@lemmy.ml 1 points 20 hours ago* (last edited 17 hours ago) (1 children)

then they better come up with a new way to keep rule of the world like they are rn, because they will be throwing their hegemony in the trash and they are not the only ones with nukes.

though to be fair detonating the planet and ending life on earth as we know it because they can't have it all to themselves anymore is something i can totally see them do 🥲

[–] eldavi@lemmy.ml 3 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

the plan is to go hide in their bunkers & safe spotss while civilization collapses from climate change and then come out of their bunkers later to then continue dominating the remaining 2% of humanity that survived the fallout on the surface.

writing this out makes me wish that i was making this up rn.

[–] TiredTiger@lemmy.ml 3 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

I hope whatever happens, there are enough of us left to fill their damn air vents with cement before we succumb to whatever world-ending catastrophe finally pushes them into the bunkers in the first place.

[–] eldavi@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago)

we would have to re-learn how to make planes; relearn how to pump oil to fuel them; and relearn how to make powerful enough weapons again after the apocalypse so we can fly to their island bunker fortresses and fight off their private armies to do that.

and that's assuming that we can collectively remember where the bunkers are located; we don't even know where most of them are right now.

[–] umbrella@lemmy.ml 3 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 15 hours ago) (1 children)

new zealand being missing from a lot of maps is a bourgeois conspiracy to erase it because they will use it as a bunker.

how could we reach new zealand without reliable access to oil or electricity? are wind sails viable for such a trip? asking for a friend.

[–] TiredTiger@lemmy.ml 1 points 15 hours ago

The Maori got there by sea in the first place. Time to start practicing with a sextant and charts.

[–] umbrella@lemmy.ml 1 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

i feel not even they are having fun in this miserable bullshit they created. like how deranged can you be.

maybe we should be building ours just in case this whole behead them and scramble to fix it thing turns out to not go as well as we would all want.

[–] eldavi@lemmy.ml 1 points 14 hours ago

how deranged can you be until you can’t be satisfied anymore.

i imagine that would be the dr evil guy in the epstein files. lol

[–] asdasd201@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

You guys

Don't look at me, I don't even live in the American continents.

[–] umbrella@lemmy.ml 4 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

even if you did, i don't think usians are ready for action at all.

[–] UltraGiGaGigantic@lemmy.ml 2 points 13 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago) (1 children)

I live here and we are not hungry enough yet.

Maybe ozempic will be put in the tap water when food becomes scarce.

[–] asdasd201@lemmygrad.ml 1 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago)

I live in a comprador state, and we are hungry enough. But centuries of oppressions and brainwashing made our people follow the ruler cults of their political views.

And the worst part is they are snitching any leftist movements for rewards from the rulers—a mid-tier position on government institutions or govt adjacent corporations and crime organizations. It will sound racist towards my people, but I believe no foreseeable future make them seeking only the short term gains.

[–] CMLVI@lemmy.world 35 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I don't think it has. I think media is saying it has.

[–] biofaust@lemmy.world 1 points 12 hours ago

Maybe because you are on Lemmy, and probably other bubbles?

[–] reallykindasorta@slrpnk.net 29 points 1 day ago

Don’t worry, none of us have forgotten about the international pedo ring that many of our public servants tolerated, enabled, and participated in and then did not take responsibility for when they were exposed.

[–] Alloi@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

sure it did, diddy

[–] DeborahLevine@thelemmy.club 17 points 1 day ago

No it hasn't...

[–] DancingBear@midwest.social 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

WE’VE BEEN LYING TO YOU THIS WHOLE TIME ABOUT WHAT YOU ACTUALLY BELIEVE, BUT IT’S NOT WORKING ANYMORE BECAUSE OF INTERNET MEDIA ON THE RIGHT AND THE LEFT,

MORE AT ELEVEN.

LOOK OVER HERE, the Israeli government totally does not have video footage of our billionaire owner raping underage women on Epstein island.

Damn it, why isn’t it working anymore?

[–] ScrambledEggs@lazysoci.al 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This just means we need to up our efforts by 95%

[–] DancingBear@midwest.social 4 points 1 day ago

I assume articles like these are for the 5% who still believe articles like these.
