If Iran were to destroy Mar A Lago, I think we could let it slide.

[–] toiletobserver@lemmy.world 36 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I unconditionally surrender all of Florida on behalf of the usa.

Bezos and his ilk that fled there can go with it

[–] IratePirate@feddit.org 7 points 1 month ago

Since you're mentioning Bezos: why not leverage the fact that he and Musk are building rockets? Let them realise their aspirations of colonising the Moon or Mars. But let them do it themselves.

[–] Linktank@lemmy.today 25 points 1 month ago (1 children)

They can have all of Florida as far as I'm concerned.

[–] Wilco@lemmy.zip 22 points 1 month ago

Let it slide? No. Medals would need to be given out.

[–] BarbecueCowboy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Even if it's a target that's not widely popular, it will be used to push policies that hurt the people of the US more.

That's how we got the patriot act.

Trump is just trying to bring more people onto the side of supporting his illegal war on Iran by proposing an unrealistic risk of danger to the U.S.

[–] dual_sport_dork@lemmy.world 85 points 1 month ago (2 children)

A danger that he totally incited in the first place by being a bloodthirty moron.

[–] Triumph@fedia.io 27 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Hes trying to do "wag the dog" without a dog.

[–] WindyRebel@lemmy.world 28 points 1 month ago

Is that because Noem murdered it?

[–] PP_BOY_@lemmy.world 19 points 1 month ago (1 children)

~~bloodthirsty moron~~ Slave to Israel

Bibi said "Kill" and he said "how many?" We surely know who's calling the shots here, right?

I say he is preparing the people for an ‘act of terror by Iran’, meaning there is going to be a false flag incident. He can then use that to claim war powers and dismantle the last sliver of US-American democracy.

[–] cmbabul@lemmy.world 22 points 1 month ago

That’s a bingo

unrealistic risk of danger to the U.S.

Bro...

Have you seen the people in charge of anti-terrorism?!

It's a bigger miracle we haven't had a serious attack in the last year than it was that not a single hurricane made landfall last year.

We can't handle any type of disaster, and even routine shit are realistic risks of danger.

Risk of terrorist attack is sky high and it would likely be something huge that gets thru.

But...

trump isn't doing anything, he's not driving the bus and hasn't been for a while. The people who tell him what to do/say are trying to normalize American deaths to him.

And because he's trump and he just repeats what people told him a second ago, that's what he did when he went on camera.

He's never concerned about something or trying to reassure anyone. Whatever he blabbers about is what people were saying to him moments ago.

the problem is that the reason the folks on US soil have such.. douche hubris is because we’ve never got our teeth kicked in because there are a couple of oceans guarding us.

it is only temporary “unrealistic” a danger, Iran will figure it out and another 9/11 will happen and.. queue up the enrollment and bootlicking country songs for 20 years.

All the while … profit, massive profit, is had.

False flag attacks are coming. Mark my words.

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 35 points 1 month ago

Probably also "Iranian election interference" and a need to federalize elections so Trump can avoid the inevitable in November.

[–] duncan_bayne@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

.... maybe?

With the disclaimer that I'm not at all sad that Khomeini was a casualty, Trump's illegal war against Iran is set to provoke some real attacks in, probably, quite short order.

[–] too_high_for_this@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Khomeini has been dead for 36 years. Khamenei is the guy who was just killed.

They’re already claiming the Texas shooter was Iranian, so it seems to have already happened.

[–] smeenz@lemmy.nz 10 points 1 month ago

Which particular mass shooting in Texas this week are we talking about here?

Incoming. One Trump Sponsored false flag act of terrorism coming up.

[–] Uranus_Hz@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

And AI will “prove” that Dems and Antifa conspired with Iran to do it.

real farquaad energy here

[–] UnspecificGravity@piefed.social 43 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Hilarious watching them push "this isn't a war" over and over again just for Trump to constantly call it a war.

Why would this be a shock to anyone? He let hundreds of thousands of Americans die to covid.

[–] TwilitSky@lemmy.world 25 points 1 month ago (6 children)

He's super nonchalant about it. This is how politicians actually feel when they know you're struggling/suffering. There is no feeling.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 22 points 1 month ago

He knows when 9/11 happened, Americans shit their pants and threw away all their rights to government.

they’ll either allow an attack or stage one so they have a reason to skip the midterms.

[–] Armok_the_bunny@lemmy.world 20 points 1 month ago

"Some of you may die, but it's a sacrifice I am willing to make"

[–] DarkSideOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 19 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Some people say they want a terror attack, to get emergency declarations and steal the midterms. I just hope this is not true. A lot of innocent people would die for few remain in power. I don’t know what to believe anymore.

[–] yakko@feddit.uk 24 points 1 month ago

Fascists are in power. That's enough to believe in while you go look for historical examples of fascists being peacefully voted out of office. That ought to keep you busy until oh, his fourth term.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 18 points 1 month ago

Spoken like a man secure in the idea that they won’t make it through to him.

[–] Akasazh@lemmy.world 17 points 1 month ago (4 children)

I hope this acceptable risk becomes him.

At this point, I think it’s insulting to Zapp to make the comparison

The follow-up is, "Why?"

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 month ago

"Oh noooo, the Reichstag is on fire!"

[–] 100_kg_90_de_belin@feddit.it 9 points 1 month ago

The Reichstag fire (German: Reichstagsbrand, pronounced [ˈʁaɪçstaːksˌbʁant] ⓘ) was an arson attack on the Reichstag building, home of the German parliament in Berlin, on Monday, 27 February 1933, precisely four weeks after Adolf Hitler was sworn in as Chancellor of Germany. Marinus van der Lubbe, a Dutch council communist, was said to be the culprit; the Nazis attributed the fire to a group of Communist agitators, used it as a pretext to claim that Communists were plotting against the German government, and induced President Paul von Hindenburg to issue the Reichstag Fire Decree suspending civil liberties and pursue a "ruthless confrontation" with the Communists.[1] This made the fire pivotal in the establishment of Nazi rule in Germany.

We attacked them. Iran should retaliate on US soil. If they do, blame the trump administration and is its cuckold fetish for Israel.
