MODERATORS

Note to the commenters here: This is a single comm, not the instance. We have plenty of anti-tankie comms as well, like !flippanarchy@lemmy.dbzer0.com !tankiejerk@lemmy.dbzer0.com. That comm tries misguidedly to enforce left-unity, which is why it’s always ending up in drama like that.

Db0 Admins be like Sacrebleu, Nien , of course we French are not Nazis. This is a proud Vitchy France Instance! OwO notices your lack of ML.

Fuk Hexbear users.

I’m seeing dbzer0 lose the information war to ml and adopt more tankie stances on issues over time.

So like tankie ideas are better? To keep winning the information war? Like more correct information… wins?

[–] ShimmeringKoi@hexbear.net 28 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

If liberal ideas prevailed in debate over communist ones, it was because the liberal ideas had won out in the open marketplace of ideas. But when in fact communist ideas usually prevailed, it was because the communists had been waging an "information war" parenti-hands

[–] bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml 15 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Tankies mog dbzer0 on the marketplace of ideas without even trying i guess, i for one have no clue who they are lol for all i know they're just a random instance.

[–] blunder@hexbear.net 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

So much for the marketplace of ideas

[–] Soot@hexbear.net 14 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

berdly-smug Every opinion and ideology is subject to the free and fair marketplace of ideas

Communism goes on to outcompete other ideas

angery Not like that. Mods stop letting me see this

[–] Chana@hexbear.net 24 points 1 day ago

Ah yes, pro-genocide instance lemmy.world has valuable opinions on what is and isn't left.

[–] JustSo@hexbear.net 29 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Salute to our hard working infiltrators.

[–] MeetMeAtTheMovies@hexbear.net 23 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Infiltration is when I have an account on an .ml instance because Hexbear just won’t respond sometimes

TL;DR: I called out a defederation evader from hexbear.

Why are liberals so eager to cry defed when they are subject to the tiniest of repercussions (a comms ban) for their what-was-almost-inevitably-shitty-chud actions?

Mods are always like "Please stop spouting Nazi propaganda for two seconds", then any Lemmyworlder is yelling "Tankie" from the rooftops powercry-2

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] Moidialectica@hexbear.net 11 points 1 day ago

They invented border control for lemmy

[–] emdash@hexbear.net 26 points 1 day ago (1 children)

"Grail" is DroneRights, by the way

[–] HuntressHimbo@lemmy.zip 16 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Sad Grail doesn't link their blog on this account. That shit was wild back in the day

[–] emdash@hexbear.net 20 points 1 day ago

I had fun going down the rabbit hole of the Soulism Reddit one time. It really puts the various Grail personas into context.

[–] Moidialectica@hexbear.net 12 points 1 day ago

Most dbzer0 users are cool, those who interact in Hexbear are awesome, dbzer0 would've been defed from Hexbear if this weren't the case.

[–] ZeroHora@lemmy.ml 26 points 1 day ago (3 children)
[–] Diva@lemmy.ml 35 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I am, however it turns out the server your internet forum account is registered on is the real determining factor for your politics, rather than any work you do or any positions you hold

[–] spectre@hexbear.net 11 points 1 day ago

For the observer: .ml is not an explicitly Marxist-Leninist instance.

This may be confusing because the TLD is a misnomer, and the background of the admins is a red herring.

[–] Alaskaball@hexbear.net 29 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Diva has an account on hexbear, therefore is automatically branded with the original sin, which is as American as Apple pie, of being a stankie red fash-ionista

[–] Diva@lemmy.ml 33 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] Johnny_Arson@hexbear.net 30 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Many such cases.

Also this shit is so funny

who needs feds when they have created a perpetual motion machine of self censorship

[–] thelastaxolotl@hexbear.net 11 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Omg the anti troop bait work!!

[–] RedNajm@hexbear.net 8 points 1 day ago

Ideally the bait would have been https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun-powered_mousetrap for better efficiency

[–] Cowbee@hexbear.net 8 points 1 day ago
[–] Johnny_Arson@hexbear.net 25 points 1 day ago

Anyone left of Henry Kissenger is a tankie to these ghouls

[–] mathemachristian@hexbear.net 30 points 1 day ago

Note to the commenters here: This is a single comm, not the instance. We have plenty of anti-tankie comms as well…

Interestingly the “not the instance” argument didn’t apply when you guys voted to defed from feddit.org last month.

So by your own community’s standards it is absolutely the whole instance.

germany-cools still mad lmfao

[–] calidris@hexbear.net 19 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Free from "ML" (read: Dengist) influence.

This is a very curious statement.

[–] MeetMeAtTheMovies@hexbear.net 19 points 1 day ago

Leftymemes, loud and clear: “We’re LeftComs”

Liberals: “Just like the instance that loves China!”

[–] Cowbee@hexbear.net 17 points 1 day ago (2 children)

For what it's worth, I'm a known SWCC enjoyer and fan of Xi Jinping Thought, and I haven't been banned or censored there. They have a pretty lax moderation policy and instead direct it against liberals and fascists more than anything.

This is hilarious I've never seen a hexbear-cool from the outside

[–] Liketearsinrain@lemmy.ml 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The persecution complex is unhealthy. With the amount of crap going on in the world they decide leftists are what to focus on

[–] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 2 points 1 day ago

They could safely bury their head in the sand and pretend they are morally virtuous for calling Trump a big diaper baby, but those leftists tell them that that won't change anything or help anyone, which makes them uncomfortable, they can't live in blissful ignorance when someone is trying to educate them and explain how things work to them!

[–] Cowbee@hexbear.net 35 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Dbzer0 (as an instance) has been on better terms with Marxists lately. There's a contradiction between the rising Marxist-friendly dbzer0 and the dying away anti-communist dbzer0. The admin team is fairly split over there it seems from the outside.

[–] Hestia@hexbear.net 12 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Ok but is the Admin DBzer0 still an anti-communist or have they grown as a person?

[–] Cowbee@hexbear.net 30 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

DB0 seems worse than before, while Unruffled and other admins seem better than before. Contradictions sharpening yada yada dialectical materialism spiral.

[–] TreadOnMe@hexbear.net 23 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

DB has been noticably more irritable since his 'I'm being polite because I think you are stupid, but if I am unable to control the conversation I will just use every excuse in the book rather than just admit that I was wrong.' ass got slapped here about oh idk two years ago?

Probably more going on than just that, but that definitely was the start of the specific bad relations.

[–] Cowbee@hexbear.net 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yep, and it seems to be getting worse over time, while the other mods and admins in general seem to be getting more chill.

[–] TreadOnMe@hexbear.net 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It very much seems like nursing a personal grudge more than anything else, which given our personal history, is not that surprising.

[–] Cowbee@hexbear.net 12 points 1 day ago
[–] Hestia@hexbear.net 9 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I remember his “disengage” crash out. That was fun

[–] Cowbee@hexbear.net 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Oh that's a common thing, not a one-off. If I were to speculate, I'd say db0 feels caught between the broader left-unity stance that's rising on dbzer0 the instance and db0's own anti-communism, as well as the fact that dbzer0 as an instance is democratic in how they run things. That's why db0 seems to be more antsy lately.

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

he only likes democracy when the democracy agrees with him

[–] Cowbee@hexbear.net 12 points 1 day ago

I don't disagree, that's why I think dbzer0's natural growth and development is causing sharpening contradictions, the struggle of the old vs the new.

If I had to name just one expansion, EverQuest: The Scars of Velious suspiciously preceded the 2001 Albanian insurgency in Macedonia. I suspect this is when the Hexbear tankies made their first move to infiltrate NATO.

[–] ShimmeringKoi@hexbear.net 14 points 1 day ago

It's the Soviet Empire thing where making allies is somehow equivalent to a colonialist expansion
