I need to know the source of this because this has to be fake or trolls because all of those in the western hemisphere or in the ocean are just silly and can't be for real

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 3 hours ago

those in the western hemisphere or in the ocean are just silly

Correct

and can't be for real

Likely incorrect. You'd be shocked at how profoundly stupid and/or misinformed some people are in a country that routinely robs its public education system to pay churches and private corporations..

This has to be a joke right? Some dots are in the ocean

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 1 points 53 minutes ago

I'd love to think that, but this is America, where basic geography might as well be Egyptian hieroglyphics to most people.

[–] axexrx@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

Buster: ovbiously, the blue part here is land.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 5 points 5 hours ago

Surety these are trolls, especially the ones putting it in the ocean…

[–] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 1 points 3 hours ago

Americans are extremely dumb so this does not surprise me at all.

[–] stupidcasey@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago

How many data points you think that is something like 5,177? HAY chatGPT HOW MANY NUKES DOSE AMERICA HAVE?

...

What a wonderful coincidence.

[–] Frozengyro@lemmy.world 6 points 6 hours ago

Better invade all these places to be safe

All of those dots on Greenland explains what 's going on right now

[–] blockheadjt@sh.itjust.works 7 points 6 hours ago

Are these schoolchildren? Adults? People in retirement homes? All ages?

Thought process:

"Iran? Like a marathon? That could be anywhere"

[–] WesternInfidels@feddit.online 9 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago)

🎵 And Iran, Iran so far away-ay-ay 🎵

[–] cosmictrickster@lemmy.world 25 points 9 hours ago (2 children)

Another map without New Zealand!

[–] StopTech@lemmy.today 21 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

But does it have Old Zealand?

[–] cosmictrickster@lemmy.world 38 points 9 hours ago (2 children)

Technically, yes. Province in Netherlands, actual name Zeeland.

[–] StopTech@lemmy.today 10 points 9 hours ago
[–] YaDownWitCPP@lemmy.world 6 points 9 hours ago (2 children)

Looks like the sequel became a much bigger hit.

[–] cosmictrickster@lemmy.world 12 points 9 hours ago

Not according to some mapmakers apparently. 😢

[–] Hapankaali@lemmy.world 5 points 8 hours ago

New Zealand certainly has the nicer mountains.

[–] WesternInfidels@feddit.online 1 points 6 hours ago

Isn't this one just cropped?

[–] Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works 2 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Most of them were fairly close.

[–] porous_grey_matter@lemmy.ml 3 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

Many of them were fairly close, but with 23% in the borders I wouldn't judge that most were, if I look where I think half the dots are it's starting to get quite far into Europe, Africa, India or China. Which imo should all be fairly easy to rule out, but shrug

[–] Una@europe.pub 3 points 6 hours ago

I think Iran is its own planet somewhere in andromeda galaxy.

[–] CannonFodder@lemmy.world 2 points 6 hours ago

Quite a few up in Greenland. Maybe this explains Trump's confusion about that.

[–] protist@mander.xyz 8 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Looks like they got Iraan, TX correct

[–] bleistift2@sopuli.xyz 4 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Now that‘s an explanation! They never heard of Iran as a country and thought it was a random-ass city. And since they didn’t know where it was, they guessed the center of the US!

[–] protist@mander.xyz 8 points 6 hours ago

Iraan, TX is a real place, though it's pronounced "Ira-Ann."

Iraan is the second largest town in the second largest county in the second largest state in the United States, which is the second largest country in North America.

"We're Number 2!"

[–] Deestan@lemmy.world 5 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago)

No, Jeremy. This is the chart that Ann sneezed on with a mouthful of cheerios.

The actual distribution plot is still in the printer. Go get it.

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 4 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

That one person who has it in for Arizona.

[–] ZoteTheMighty@lemmy.zip 2 points 7 hours ago

Honestly, Iran sounds more pleasant.

[–] Hawk@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

I wonder if this is because they often use an America centered map

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 13 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Or because people don't take it seriously, such as the ones who selected the ocean.

[–] Hawk@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 8 hours ago

Nah, they just thought the white was the landmass
