“There’s thinking in and around the administration that the politics are a lot better if the Israelis go first and alone and the Iranians retaliate against us, and give us more reason to take action,” one of the sources told Politico under the condition of anonymity.

No one wants you to bomb Iran idiots.

Manufactured war

Yes well it will be a pre-emptive strike in terms of legality and public approval in the sense that the strike pre-empts anyone in their right mind supporting it or there being any non-bullshit legal basis for it.

Israel does...

[–] NorskSud@piefed.social 3 points 5 days ago (3 children)

There are literally dozens of Iranians asking for it on European streets. Demonstrations every week, often very explicitly asking for that.

Sounds like a mossad psyop

[–] Aqarius@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Not necessarily. It could also be the MEK.

[–] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 1 points 5 days ago

known terrorists, even the US had them on their list

There were literally thousands of Americans who stormed the capitol on January 6, 2021. Do you think their will to overturn the election should have been carried out?

[–] NorskSud@piefed.social 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Nope, but also can't see any resemblance with the Iranian situation.

[–] hark@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

"The people" rising up and making demands. You seem to think dozens of people making a demand should have the backing of foreign intervention. What do you think of thousands making demands? Why support one and not the other?

[–] NorskSud@piefed.social 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Their demanding being to destroy democracy or instead implementing it. But I guess you can't see that difference.

[–] hark@lemmy.world 0 points 2 days ago (1 children)

How much democracy did we bring to Iraq?

[–] NorskSud@piefed.social 1 points 2 days ago

Iraqis we're not demonstrating asking the US to bomb their regime. You're mixing different things all the time..

[–] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 1 points 5 days ago

they are traitor rats, fans of the US/UK installed shah regime.
Or shitraelis they should get bombed, not Iran

[–] mrdown@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago

[–] redsand@infosec.pub 1 points 5 days ago

Ghislaine Maxwell does and she's Queen of the world. The US and UK shall bend to her will.

They can cower behind the antisemitism shield where we can't.

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.world 15 points 6 days ago (1 children)

It really has been used as anti-Israel actions is anti-Semitism, which is a load of horseshit. If the U.S. bombs Iran and people criticize it, it's Anti-U.S. sentiment, not Anti-christian sentiment, unless all Christians suddenly say bombing Iran is what God wants.

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 10 points 5 days ago

If I were a practicing Jew I'd be furious if people kept conflating my faith with the state of Israel.

Except we are clearly setting up our emotional support Israel to take all of the blame when this goes south, which it will....and Israel will deserve blame for it, they are foaming at the mouth for regional war but the US will spin around and say "we've been deceived by the jews again!" to get out of admitting to itself how fucked up the US is all by itself.

Cue history repeating itself in the same violent, xenophobic, stupid ways...

[–] crusa187@lemmy.ml 5 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Clearly Israel is the only one who wants this war, the US is just following orders.

This is why US shouldn’t allow its politicians to be up for sale, but alas, hard to fix stupid.

[–] supersquirrel@sopuli.xyz 4 points 6 days ago

There is no clearly delineating the idea of US and Israel in this foreign policy context, it is a continuous enmeshed concept, Israel is a vassal state of the US, I don't say that condescendingly, that is what it is.

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 29 points 6 days ago (1 children)

So the same strategy they're trying with ICE at home. Do little actions to get a reaction that gives an excuse to hit back harder. Sounds fascist. Because it is.

Probably the first time Trump has ever said "You go first, I insist." in his entire life.

[–] GreenBeanMachine@lemmy.world 4 points 5 days ago (1 children)

It's not really Trump saying that. He doesn't understand that much to make this kind of strategic call.

[–] nonius@lemmy.zip 3 points 5 days ago

One of my biggest problems with the past 8-9 years is the amount of blame Trump gets compared to his army of cronies making all of the policy decisions. He is a demonstrably terrible person, but he's clearly not the brains behind these policies

[–] MrFinnbean@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago

Dont know. Some things he have said makes me think he likes to walk behind his daughters.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 18 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Israel already tried this with their 12-Day War and ate shit when their David's Sling and Arrow system got riddled with ballistic buckshot.

Do they have an appetite for another active engagement? Idk. Seems like they prefer to go after softer targets

[–] supersquirrel@sopuli.xyz 6 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

No but Trump has an appetite for firing off all the air defenses that the US and Europe could use to resist Russia/give in aid to Ukraine and the air defense missile companies would love to have their buy orders full for the next 10 years from dumping the entire interceptor stock in an intense war with Iran.

If US service members die in missile strikes on bases in the middle east, all the better for underlining the stock market value of air defense missile companies.

US and Europe could use to resist Russia

Grizzlies owner Robert Pera's tech company linked to Russia in war, per report

Telecommunications equipment made by the company of Memphis Grizzlies owner Robert Pera is being used by the Russian military in its war against Ukraine, according to a report from Hunterbrook Media.

...

In the report, Hunterbook Media revealed video where Wi-Fi equipment made by Ubiquiti is being shown on the front lines in the Russia-Ukraine war. The equipment reportedly has helped Russia use drones that have targeted civilians in Ukraine.

"Without Ubiquiti, these drones in Russia, the ones leading to massacres, would not work," Hunterbrook reporter Sam Koppelman said on the "Pablo Torre Finds Out" podcast on Jan. 27. "They would be flying blind."

The US and Europe are profiting massively off this conflict. They don't want it to end.

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 9 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

The new Axis of Evil. Shitler and pedolini. I’d say more than likely Israel is going to bomb a us ship as a false flag operation so pedolini can justify a regime change war.

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 4 points 5 days ago

The cuck wars!

I like it when they start my war! Grrrr! Yeah baby!

C'mon and drop'em! We love to see you guys doing it! We should take video so we can replay it later.... Alone.... In the dark.
