We (humanity) are quite fucked, tbh. It doesn't even really matter if you live in the US or not. The world's most dangerous weapons are about to get tied to an autonomous system which is already famous for getting things very wrong. The people with the killswitch are drunk with power and think that said AI provides a strategic advantage.
The strategic advantage they want is plausible deniability when they want to deny that they intentionally targeted a hospital full of children.
Oh, I hadn't even considered that.
Its just too bad these autonomous systems require a massive amount of mostly unguarded infrastructure.
