They've amassed missiles armed with warheads. Let that sink in and realize what they really are, because it's not a force for immigration enforcement, it's an army simping for Trump. They will be weaponized at a much greater scale in the future certainly.

A mod should sticky a correction to this post if the OP doesnt make an edit themselves

Reports that ICE purchased tomahawk missiles have since been corrected to have likely been a clerical error on an order form. OP themselves linked to reporting to this error in a comment below

[–] anarchiddy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 4 hours ago

The line item in question is apparently only $61k lmao

[–] scroll_responsibly@lemmy.sdf.org 12 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

They’ve amassed missiles armed with warheads.

Did you post the wrong article because I saw nothing to that effect in this one.

[–] just_another_person@lemmy.world 3 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

It was reported months ago, but as someone else pointed out, they've apparently address that as something else.

[–] Taldan@lemmy.world 3 points 4 hours ago

Perhaps you should edit your post to reflect that. Most people don't look at the comments. Without a correction, you'll be misinforming a lot of people

[–] JustEnoughDucks@feddit.nl 17 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Where in the article does it say anything about missiles and warheads?

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 0 points 9 hours ago

Idk about this article, but there was one a few months ago that said they bought a bunch of tomahawk missiles.

Fucking doomer bullshit propaganda.

Fascists whole fucking game plan is to make you feel like the walls have closed in and you're powerless to fight.

That is literally all this thread is. You're either brainwashed or a propaganda cell.

Tagging so many accounts as "sus doomer" in this thread. It's good to see so many folks also calling this shit out, but for real... Lemmy has a fucking doormer problem and it is rampant.

[–] thax@lemmy.dbzer0.com -2 points 11 hours ago

To be fair, the world has a bit of an extinction problem.

[–] just_another_person@lemmy.world 0 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

It's a report from Schiff's office. How is that "Doomer"?

[–] foggy@lemmy.world 4 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Where does the report say they have acquired missiles and warheads?

[–] just_another_person@lemmy.world -4 points 7 hours ago (2 children)
[–] foggy@lemmy.world 1 points 39 minutes ago

You're either controlled opposition or brainwashed by propaganda.

There isn't really a middle ground here.

[–] anarchiddy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 6 hours ago

*and corrected

[–] CascadiaRo@lemmy.zip 38 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

They’ve amassed missiles armed with warheads.

The article you linked makes no mention of this. What is the basis for this claim?

[–] just_another_person@lemmy.world 0 points 12 hours ago (1 children)
[–] rhombus@sh.itjust.works 7 points 9 hours ago

Should probably edit the correction into your main post.

[–] Vorticity@lemmy.world 25 points 18 hours ago (4 children)

Raw Story already stretches the truth for clicks. You're here just making completely unsubstantiated claims. They are doing more than enough heinous shit without people mudding the waters with lies.

In response to the article itself, which references a 360% increase in weapons spending, ICE more than doubled the number of agents it employs. I wish they wouldn't, but they seem to think that all of these untrained traitors need weapons. It makes sense that they would have a massive increase in weapons purcheses to outfit the new traitors and the future traitors they're hoping to hire.

This is a non-story for the most part and you don't need to add lies to it.

[–] Dasus@lemmy.world 1 points 7 hours ago

I agree there's no need to exaggerate.

But it is worrying anyway. It's very much play-by-play from Hitler's playbook.

Suppress opposition while getting a force which simps for you and challenges normal authorities.

More accurately, its preparation for martial law in November. Any US citizen who thinks there will be free and fair elections is not paying attention. The regime are not leaving power willingly.

Time is running out for nation wide general strikes ..

[–] fizzle@quokk.au 12 points 20 hours ago (3 children)

You don't need missiles for martial law though.

[–] teslekova@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 hours ago

These days, you really do.

[–] galoisghost@aussie.zone 9 points 19 hours ago

Who needs martial law when you can bomb a voting centre and say it was overrun by Antifa

[–] ChrisG@lemmy.world 2 points 15 hours ago

If any sane governor tries to push back against martial law, killing of dissenters and the total subversion of democracy, Trumps private army will be indeed well armed.

Too many people are just not getting it. The regime will not relinquish power.

[–] Carmakazi@piefed.social 52 points 21 hours ago (5 children)

I thought the whole "missiles and warheads" thing was a debunked claim from a misunderstanding of less-lethal launchers and their ammunition. Rubber balls and teargas sorts of stuff.

What they're buying seems to be the same shit that any podunk small-town PD has been buying for the last 15 years with their budget surplus. Which is a problem in and of itself, but it's not an escalation beyond what is unfortunately the norm.

If they're picking up heavy machine guns or Hellfire missiles, let us know.

[–] Chronographs@lemmy.zip 28 points 21 hours ago

Yeah there’s no reference to that in the article.

[–] AmidFuror@fedia.io 5 points 21 hours ago (4 children)

That's the trouble with raw stories. They're often inaccurate. Yet if they say what will get people riled up, they'll get engagement and praise here.

[–] JustEnoughDucks@feddit.nl 9 points 15 hours ago

OP is the one who fabricated the "missiles and warheads" to rile people up. The article says nothing of the sort.

[–] zqps@sh.itjust.works 1 points 12 hours ago

No they don't, this claim is being called out up and down this whole thread.

[–] Professorozone@lemmy.world 15 points 21 hours ago

Actually it's looks like the summary below the source is what's inaccurate. Neither the title nor the story talk about warheads.

Not one mention. Why you lying op? There's plenty of bad shit in here without lying

[–] just_another_person@lemmy.world -3 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

What are you even talking about?

[–] Bristlecone@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago

Missiles dude

[–] CaptDust@sh.itjust.works 36 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago)

No shit, ya don't give em the largest budget of any enforcement agency and expect them not to spend it, right?

“Trump is building up a well-funded, poorly trained paramilitary force that could easily take on a life of its own,” Brooks explained. “Once you have a massive moneymaking machine ginned up, it’s hard to reverse course and turn off the spigot.”

Doge them, immediately. Take the guns first, go through due process second. Let that sink in, Thank You for your attention to this MATTER.

[–] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 13 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

what in the fuck would an immigration agency need with missiles of any kind?

what in the actual fuck

[–] ganryuu@lemmy.ca 4 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

The article makes no mention of any missile or warhead, only op speaks about that, be careful.

[–] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

yeah that's a bit odd

[–] switcheroo@lemmy.world 9 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Because they're not an immigration agency, they are a certain twatwaffle's personal bully party. An inept, untrained, pathetic bunch of tiny dicks. The brown shirts, if you will.

[–] OctopusNemeses@lemmy.world 4 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

They went from asscrack hanging out their dad jeans to looking ready to drop into the middle of a war zone.

[–] Tryenjer@lemmy.world 5 points 15 hours ago* (last edited 15 hours ago)

They will be the secret police, spying, arresting, torturing and killing dissidents. In Portugal, during the Estado Novo regime, the secret police of Salazar's regime, PIDE, also began with the merging of two immigration and border control agencies.

Re-electing Trump is the worst financial decision this country has ever made.
