Some estimates have perhaps as much as that figure just for the USS GRF, nevermind the other vessels in the fleet.

So the eight month deployment (and counting) has so far cost the American working class 2.6 billion dollars - as an absolute bare minimum.

This does not include the cost of actually flying sorties, the ordnance that gets dropped (these bombs can cost a million dollars a piece), etc etc.

I am sure it's way more then that, the US military pays a ginormous premium on everything because the military industrial complex needs feeding.

I would assume it's much more than that just in personnel wages and heavy bunker fuel, not to mention munitions and maintenance, cleaning supplies and food.
