Primer. Then half of it again because my spouse ended up watching it a second time the next day. Pretty good.

Oh dang. First time? That has to be the most complicated time travel movie ever made.

A couple episodes of Burbs. I saw it advertised while waiting for the Bad Bunny show. It's lightweight fun. I dig Keke Palmer.

Watched The Edge Of Sleep the other night, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It got me to listen to the original podcast audio drama, which was also very enjoyable. They changed a lot of things for the show, but I think it still works as a good representation of the story, there’s some give and take as to what did what better, but they both have their charm.

I like the bones of the story enough to forgive some of its shortcomings, it’s a really cool concept. One night, everyone who fell asleep dies in their sleep, if you sleep then you die, the main character has a connection to what’s happening he’s trying to figure out, and Linda is a badass.

Edit: It’s on Tubi, only eight episodes at about 20 minutes a pop, it’s a very digestible show.

美国女孩 (American Girl) - About Taiwanese girls that lived their early childhood in the US but their mom is bringing them back to Taiwan and the struggle they go through to adapt.

Kinda resonate with me as a Chinese American... I always wondered what (re-)visiting China would be like... but I kinda don't feel like going due to political reasons.

But then again I could visit Taiwan...

(Set in 2003 so it sort of changed my perspective on the whole Firewall of China thing...

In the movie, in Taiwan, their home internet doesnt work and had to use an internet cafe

So I thought about it...

Before the internet existed, its essentially a firewall that filtered 100% of everything (cuz non existence of internet is practically the same as having a firewall that blocks all traffic)

So a firewall doesn't even seem that crazy anymore considering I didn't even get internet up to 2010 when we emigrated from China... like you can still just smuggle in banned books and hope border agents don't check it... if one truely wishes to see the outside world, they could, the firewall is for normies, you can climb it if you're brave)

Back in about 2002, I was a minimum-wage-ish US restaurant employee. Our boss loved metal and hockey and introduced us to both. I saw a few games over the years and, recently, took my wife to her first game (and mine in Japan) by the Tohoku Freeblades. We've been watching some videos explaining hockey rules and some interesting plays (as well as our closest team's videos). My wife went to a sports university and is quite interested. It's nice

We watched Hell Comes to Frogtown for bad movie night last night. It certainly was interesting.

After a worldwide nuclear war, where 68% of the male population was wiped out and virile men becoming a rarity, Sam Hell, a scavenger and a highly virile man, is assigned to help rescue a group of fertile women kidnapped by humanoid frogs.
