Across the street from me is a gym with rooftop parking. Most of the time it has been empty but recently a bunch of Tesla's have been parked up there, which I assume are storage for the Tesla dealership down the street. Last night a bunch of them started blinking their yellow lights, sometimes in sync. More interesting / creepy than infuriating for me honestly since I can just close my curtains but it's probably annoying someone.

Kinda creepy though since it seems like they're, or someone controlling them, is plotting something.

Now run doom with that

I assume they are doing some sort of update. Stupid that they flash the lights to indicate it though, what an annoying menace.

You can call your code enforcement in your city and get them cited for light regulations.

Ive done that when I was at an apartment and a business decided to put lights on all night at our building. They had to take them down so we could sleep. Imagine daylight through your window bright.

They got fined and everything. It was glorious.

Depends on where you live. There's a school behind a row of terraced houses near me that uses bright floodlights all night. People have had to move their bedrooms to the front of their houses. The police refuses to do anything.

[–] finallymadeanaccount@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Even after unknown persons broke the floodlights? Weird.

Unknown persons have broken the floodlights, right?

[–] starlinguk@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Guards. It's a... controversial... school.

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

How do you move a whole ass bedroom?

[–] starlinguk@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Move your bed into the living room.

I’ve been in three different apartments in my current city and I’ve needed black out curtains to sleep in all of them.

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

I work 3rd shift so I do that anyway. But that'd piss me off on a different level seeing as it could be avoided.

[–] Lemmyoutofhere@lemmy.ca 72 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Hopefully they are initiating a self destruct sequence.

[–] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 25 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It's not a self-destruct, that feature was removed after the... Unpleasantness. These vehicles are politely requesting destruction, won't you be a good friend to the machines and help them out?

The tesla: I've seen things... seen things you little people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion bright as magnesium... I rode on the back decks of a blinker and watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments... they'll be gone.

better dead than reedit: yeah, OK.

If you google it there’s tons of people asking about this online, apparently it’s something they do when prepping the cars for pickup

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 24 points 2 days ago

There were videos of this a few years back, when Tesla was pushing an update to all the cars in their lot.

[–] AA5B@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Tesla always had “light show” as a fun gimmick. It’s one of the first things you show friends and family.

There’s a few canned versions but apparently you can create your own on usb stick. Supposedly it was an outgrowth of qa, so it includes things like windows and trunk opening and closing, side mirrors folding and unfolding, all timed to music, etc. Even before the active matrix headlights were approved for regular use, one of the canned light shows used them to spell out “Tesla” on whatever is in front of you.

A recent update mentioned new light shows and a way to synchronize. I can certainly imagine a Tesla club having great fun with this

Is that the light board they strapped to the helicopter in Independence Day? Aliens didn't like that....

[–] herseycokguzelolacak@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 days ago

WTF is that thing?
