I was clearing out the wood from a lake recently as part of a local initiative (apparently the extra lignin in the water makes the lake more acidic and harmful to the diversity).
Anyway, I was in my chest-high waders stomping slowly around but kept tripping up on what felt like a rock. So I reach in and pull out: a printer.
Okay... well that's the end of that, except now in that exact same spot by the pier, I'm tripping over something else. I go in, pull it out, feel something else, pull it out, etc etc.
After about an hour, I had pulled out: a pewter mug and dish tray, a metal vase, a shrunken football, more parts of the printer, a BMX wheel, and more I'm forgetting.
This is a lake that that ducks swim in.
