I always did love that DS9 decided to make Star Trek a little risque again. The OS was straight up corny sometimes in how horny it was. Next Gen often was sexual but everyone was very professional about it (which makes sense because they were all officers on a Star Fleet ship). DS9 let things get a bit more horny while also keeping it classy.

I like the mirror universe episodes, where the camp and the horny gets ramped up to 11 and the suits are less likely to tell them off for being gay on screen

The cast said they had a lot of fun with those whereas the day to day Berman bullshit wasnt fun. Actors are often horny

Yeah but Riker was classy about it.

The ‘horny’ scenes in OS were only ‘horny’ for men who have no consideration for the women involved. It was all sexist.

In TNG a large part of the horny parts were sexist

In DS9 queer people exist only in the ‘evil dimension’ which implies that all the queer characters in DS9 were keeping their queerness to themselves in the normal dimension which is the proper thing to do. The exception to this is Jadzia which is a very based character

Lower Decks finally let them be gay but it took 30 years.

I feel like that top got an update in later seasons to have thicker material. That fabric was almost transparent in seasons 1-3 or so

Ds9 brings me an unreasonable amount of joy. Yes I'm watching it again. Yes I just finished watching it for the i-dont-know-how-many-th time a month ago. It brings me joy and comfort.

I watch it three times a year and hafe for a decade now. Joy and comfort is it. TNG is a once a year thing...its great. But I wouldnt wanna live on the enterprise, I DO wanna live on ds9, war or not. That is one of my imaginary homes and the cast are my imaginary friends and if I ever meet Nana Vistior I will genuinely die out of sheer celebrity crush.
