a Kid Rock song resurfacing is criminal enough without the child rape

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 114 points 1 month ago (5 children)

Member that time Ted Nugent assumed guardianship of his underage girlfriend so they could travel across state lines and have sex?

Yeah.

[–] evidences@lemmy.world 55 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Ted Nugent the singer of the song Jailbait? That Ted Nugent? I never would have guessed.

tbf i was fully planning to use the same trick if I was ever called up.

Yes but are you also a batshit crazy boot licking pedolunatic?

Edit to be clear the hypocrisy of his flag waving / America is the greatest / don't criticize stance vs. Not serving the same country when called on isn't lost on me.

My assumption is that the drugs addled his already messed up mind, akin to having a stroke. Looking at fetterman rn.

[–] hactar42@lemmy.ml 36 points 1 month ago (2 children)

It is sad how often that has happened. Steven Tyler did the same thing. And sadly Stevie Ray Vaughan did it so he could take his 16 year old girlfriend back to Texas from New Zealand.

Anthony Keidis admitted to raping a 14 year old groupie in his memoir

In the 1980s apparently no one gave a single shit about any of this.

I read Scar Tissue after being a RHCP fan for years, it's some grim reading at times. There's also that one video of the band sexually harassing a woman on TV.

I enjoy their music but don't have the fondness for the band members themselves that I used to.

[–] GunValkyrie@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

That book was excellent at making me hate Anthony kedis. I too was a huge RHCP fan. Now I just follow flea and john f.

[–] ProfThadBach@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Fuck me. Not Stevie Ray. I did not need to hear that.

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 month ago

That whole 'never meet your heroes' thing should be more like never form any attachment to anyone you don't personally know.

[–] BigBananaDealer@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

remember when jimmy page locked his 13 year old girlfriend in his hotel room so none of the other band members could have sex with her?

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

14, but yeah.

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

Member that song called Jailbait? What was that about again?

It is truly shocking just how many Republicans rape kids. Kid Rock bragging about it in a song is very on brand.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 28 points 1 month ago

Turns out that if a party advertises that it has no standards, it draws the worst of the worst into the fold.

[–] ramenshaman@lemmy.world 65 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (4 children)

In case you were wondering. The song is called "Cool Daddy, Cool" and was featured on the Osmosis Jones soundtrack.

[–] Makhno@lemmy.world 27 points 1 month ago

featured on the Osmosis Jones soundtrack.

Noooooo

[–] Madison420@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

It's right up there with the nudget classic jailbait.

Well, I don't care if you're just thirteen You look too good to be true I just know that you're probably clean There's one little think I got do to you

[–] nieminen@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

This quote by Vance is hilarious.

Fantastic lineup for the TPUSA halftime show, including the great Bob Ritchie AKA KID ROCK

Wow, tell us more about how cool Bob Ritchie is. So fucking embarrassing.

He looks like shit for being only 55!

[–] ButteryMonkey@piefed.social 55 points 1 month ago (8 children)

Genuinely every time I see TPUSA my brain substitutes turning point for toilet paper. Same result, so I refuse to correct it.

[–] RisingSwell@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 1 month ago

I forgot what their real name was for a couple weeks.

[–] calliope@retrolemmy.com 5 points 1 month ago

Me too!! I actually almost edited my comment to say that it sounds like a commodity bathroom tissue manufacturer.

Literally every time I have to remind myself it’s not toilet paper and I chuckle.

They chose an appropriate acronym, that’s for sure

Every time I see this picture I think of my in-laws talking about how disrespectful it was for Zelenskyy to wear a t-shirt in the oval office

What's more appropriate for a gathering of conservatives than entertainment that focuses on child abuse?

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 12 points 1 month ago

The more time goes on, the more I believe that Kid Rock was not acting in Joe Dirt; he just showed up on set one day and was being himself, thinking all the other characters were real.

Kid Rock you can count on being on the shitty, wrong side of things.

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Get Kid Rock out and get Ted Nugent in there!

Nothing problematic about ol Ted.

[–] ProfThadBach@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I hate to say this because Motorhead is one of my all time favorite bands but they have a song about fucking underage girls too.

[–] ape_arms@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Yeah, I think we can all find many songs from the 70s and 80s that have questionable themes. I also think we can confidently say that many music artists from that era had sex with teen girls, considering the groupies that were part of that scene. I also think this is different than going to an island that trafficked underage girls, but it still doesn't sit quite right.

[–] Fourth@mander.xyz 6 points 1 month ago

It's all bad but even more bad that this kid Rock song is from 1997.

[–] natecox@programming.dev 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Is it don’t let daddy kiss me? I feel like the context there is significantly different.

It’s still an uncomfortable song that didn’t need to be made but at least I feel like its intent is to make you uncomfortable.

[–] sobchak@programming.dev 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Guessing it's Jailbait from the Ace of Spades album.
