The BLADES franchise
~~The Saw franchise~~
I don't want to ride on the whirling blade plane
if it makes you feel better, most planes are whirling blade planes, the whirling blades just live inside a nice housing that keeps them safe.
well i mean unless birds or ice get in there in which case they blow up or catch fire or fly out of the housing ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯
Yeah I do not like, it's triggering my trypophobia
It's an entirely different kind of flying, altogether.

RETVRN
I am going to need to do some digging to figure out why this isn't just a turboprop with fancier blades, because I'm pretty sure this is a turboprop with fancier blades. Maybe they want different terminology for when the open fan operates at shaft speed?
fan operates at shaft speed

aerodynamics is a fuck, it makes everything look the same, honestly respect to anyone who finds a solution to make shit look weird again
Wouldn't that make them more noisy?
Turboprops are cool and more efficient until speeds exceeding about 450 mph. The Dash 8 aircraft line look really cool to me, high wing with the landing gear mounted beneath the engines. This concept art looks like the wings are a bit higher than at typical low-wing for clearance.
