For being "shocking", it simply lacks the "unexpected" or "surprising" part.
Shocking in the sense of the things that happened, in how depraved the whole thing is.
Shocking as in, surprised? No, not in the least.
The only thing shocking about it is that he's not been drawn and quartered yet
"Unsurprising allegations" is more appropriate

This is only shocking if your head has been stuck in the sand for the last decade or so.

No one actually wonders this, they'd know that it's rape even if they pay. I'm not a professor of criminal psychology, but my understanding is that even psychopaths/sociopaths aren't stuck waffling on the semantics of stuff like this, the hyperbolic debate is for show - they know it's wrong even if they do mental gymnastics to justify it.
They know that normies think its wrong, but they don't actually FEEL that it's wrong, or have any problem with doing anything wrong. They aren't capable of guilt or pangs of conscience or anything like that. That's normal for a Sociopath/ Psychopath.
