I've noticed that right wing chuds on various online platforms are immediately dogpiling on this event to justify his murder.
I didn't know that kicking taillights was a capital offense.
Welcome to the News community!
Rules:
1. Be civil
Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.
2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.
Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.
3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.
Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

I didn't know that kicking taillights was a capital offense.
They'll try and in a way I'm glad because they're showing their hand, conservatives have gone completely insane and will justify anything they're told to.
Normal people understand kicking a taillight a week prior doesn't justify the execution.
yep and unlike in the good old day, we have modern video and audio, any modern atrocity is now recorded for future peoples to remembered and reviewed by all immediately all over the world.
Facebook is flooded with deflection for a victim of an illegal who already got justice. They try to say don't go to dangerous places if you don't want trouble. Motherfucker you voted for this. You made it dangerous. Fuck off with your shit bad faith goal posts and whataboutisms.
Land of the free, but don't go over there the government may kill you.
Also, try not to be brown, or sound like a foreigner. Otherwise, we can do a Kavanaugh stop and search you for no other reason
And a capital offense needing neither judge nor jury.
ICE is the one who gets to decide, on the spot, if you deserve to die or be imprisoned, or maced, etc.
"... nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law"
I think if it’s relevant, it might prove they actually hunted him down to get revenge
Premeditated assassination, then?
Quite unlikely, I think. At least in the sense that they lured him into the scene to help someone and then murder him. As that would be quite a bit more elaborate.
Since all the ICE offenders enjoy unjustifiable anonymity by the administration, it's not easy to see if any of the thugs from those two events were the same. As the second possibility would be that when he came to help, someone recognized him, and being the man-children they are, then shot him. Either this, or they simply did loser thug things in the spur of the moment.
Premeditation in the legal sense does not require lengthy planning, entrapment, etc. Only that the intent occurs prior to the murder, with time for a "moment of reflection". These guys should get the fucking chair.
My mind went there too, then I remembered the video from the pink scarf lady and feel like there’s no way they figured out/confirmed who he was before tackling him.
I figure it’s much more likely that it was a matter of odds: by all accounts, Alex was a staunch anti-ICE protester and was out protesting frequently, and with each instance of attendance the odds increased towards a successive altercation with agents. This does not mean he deserved to be harmed and eventually killed.
Edit: sounds like it’s likely the agents actually did know who Alex was, due to video evidence showing another altercation with him minutes before they tackled and killed him.
Stop trying to get me to like him more. Geez
ICE is going into neighborhoods spreading terror and they have the gall to call us terrorists.
So his murder was premeditated. Got it.
And yet Trump is still alive.
It's like when dipshit right wingers say George Floyd deserved to be suffocated to death by a cop because he had prior offenses.
Doesn't matter.
Having prior offenses doesn't mean you're sentenced to death.
WE ALL SAW THE VIDEOS FROM MULTIPLE ANGLES.
He tries to help a woman up. His gun is holstered. He's jumped by multiple ICE agents and tackled to the ground. One of them removes the gun from his holster and immediately afterward they execute him while disarmed and on his knees.
That's all that matters. Anyone arguing that anything that happened on a previous day is relevant is simply making excuses for the government summarily executing citizens.
Anyone arguing that anything that happened on a previous day is relevant
This could make it premeditated
Ice sees gun, knows they could push a future altercation
Imagine if Pretti didn't have a gun. Ice tackles unarmed guy and shoots him? Other than AI unbelievers it would be a hard sell.
Here's the thing, because ice isn't actually law enforcement, they just wanted to get out of the car and rough him up, there's no paper trail here. He wasn't detained, ticketed, whatever. A lot of people are claiming it's AI and because ICE's goal isn't law and order, it's running around like Eric Carmen screaming "respect my authority" its just that much more difficult to refute claims like that. If anything it makes the case for 1st degree murder if ice and Pretti had a history.
Here's what I saw: He had an altercation, they roughed him, and let him go. He was armed the entire time. If he intended to kill ICE Apes, why didn't he do it? This seems to throw cold water on their allegation that he showed up ready for a massacre.
Secondly, it seems to indicate a change in orders between the two encounters. They let him go after the first time, even though he had a gun, but they shot him the next time, probably because their orders had changed to confront vehicle blockers and armed protesters, and they were ordered to shoot them, make an example, and send a message.
And no matter what he did previously, none of it justifies literally executing him in the street by a firing squad.
