7 Democrats in the House of Representatives voted to fund them. It's unconscionable, and those seven should be primaried, as well as party leadership who decided not to do a whip vote, but blaming the entire Democratic Party, including the Senate which hasn't voted yet and is vowing to block it, is quite ignorant, to be honest.
What are you hoping to accomplish by responding to Senate Democrats saying they won't allow the funding, by saying "You already allowed the funding"?
Wait for the Senate to vote, see if they keep their word. Don't preemptively blame them for the thing they're saying they're going to try to stop.
And if they don't keep their word, run for their seat and primary them. But all this "Dems are fascist-lite/controlled-opposition" seems like a combination of foreign disinfo and right-wing psyop, both of which are meant to sow discord and weaken opposition. And it's working, because idiots like you keep falling for it.
If you haven't seen establishment Dem's efforts to maintain the power of the GOP and this new fascist paradigm, you have paid zero attention and are just as painted-face-sports-fan for the Dems as MAGA is for Trump.
I'm not saying we don't vote Dem. We should all vote Dem. Entirely NEW dems. Every incumbent must go, every last one. I stopped caring when they stopped caring about us. Fuck every last one, I hope they end up prosecuted at the Hague with the GOP who enabled this. Or at least disappear into obscurity.
That's precisely the kind of no-nuance take that I would expect from maga.
Pointing out obvious untruths and presenting easily verifiable facts is not the same as being pro-establishment Dem.
I'm not happy about the response seen so far, and I think any Dem who votes with Republicans should be primaried. I think the Democratic Party leadership should be replaced. But painting the entire Democratic Party with a broad-brush and saying they're all to blame/controlled opposition/fascist-lite is as I said both counter-factual and counter-productive.
There are plenty of Democrats voting against Republicans and doing all they can to oppose them, and lumping them in with republicans and DINOs is not going to help the situation.
Just because they currently have a minority and the way the system is designed makes it extremely difficult for them to oppose the majority party doesn't mean they're all complicit. If you want to see them make a difference, try voting in more Dems so that they get a sabotage-proof majority.
Until then, try directing your ire at the people who are actually to blame, such as republicans and the 7 House Democrats who voted with them.
Adam Schiff is not the problem, and attacking him for making headlines with an oppositional statement is only going to disincentivize any remaining Democrats from speaking up or standing out. And that is not what we need.

Pretty much. He'll conspire with the party to find those safe seat Republican-lite assholes and get them to "break" and pass the funding and then go "Welp I and the Democrats tried!", just like last time with the ACA subsidies and every other time since I've been alive and voting for Democrats.
I'll believe it when I see it. The current Democrat leadership is nothing but a bunch of flip-flopping pussies.
It goes beyond flip-flopping. It looks like a party of calculated self-sabotage. It appears Schumer organizes votes to ensure there are just enough dissenters that he and others can pretend to want the right thing but hey, what can they do, unfortunately they just didn't get enough votes. Every time. All that changes is who they pick to be on dissent duty.
You'll see it for about a week before some Democrats "care about the American people's* suffering" and vote with their Republican party to fund more ICE murders and the leadership go "well at least we tried".
DNC will need to do a lot of work before i believe they're anything but controlled opposition.

Maybe refuse to caucus with anyone who doesn’t support your NEW bill removing the funding granted by the one YOU JUST SUPPORTED?
He didn't support the ice bill that I can tell. There were 7 democrats and he wasn't on the list.

The moment the current regime ends, ICE needs to be disbanded, and people has to be held accountable.
There needs to be a completely new organization for dealing with immigration, this one has been and continues to be rolling in shit so deep you can't get the stink out.
ICE and DHS both need to be disbanded, they're useless organizations whose function can be met equally or better by other groups. DHS has always been a sad joke of an agency, let the FBI/CIA, federal marshals or state troops handle that stuff. Likewise ICE has no need to exist, anything they do can just as easily be handled by some other law enforcement agency.
Worst case scenario they create a new agency with no law enforcement powers to handle immigration paperwork. Make them a pure bureaucracy that only exists to file reports and help people go through the immigration process. If someone over stays their visa then the immigration bureau can refer that person to traditional LEOs at the state or federal level. There's no reason at all why they need a dedicated law enforcement agency purely for immigrants.
It's good to remember that DHS was invented as a response to 9/11 during all the rush to "Keep us Safe from Terrorists" when we lost a lot of freedom and privacy. We were doing just fine without them before.
Unless we somehow miraculously manage to throw every single one of them into prison. Disbanding ICE and making a new organization just means these fuckers are going to be recycled and rebranded. Nothing will change.

"Congressman" is a generic term that covers people in both houses of Congress.
Huh, I usually call house of reps Congress members and refer to senators as senator.
Also since Schiff only recently ascended from the house of reps to the Senate, wanted to clarify his current role.

It is infuriating to see how many people think the legislative branch is divided into Senate and Congress. Or worse, how many people think the 3 branches of government are "the President, Congress, and Senate."

Part of the script would be to point out that the cuts the conservatives made under their fake "doge" were only harming and killing people, and didn't really save any money at all. The liberal DOGE aims to get rid of "waste, fraud and abuse" that is actively harmful.
