I actually kinda like shoveling snow. It's a good workout and it feels good getting it all perfect.

Sucks when I need to leave early in the morning, though.

My poor ass doesn't have a blower so I need to pick up the slack screm-pretty

Also never lift the shovel head higher than your waist. Ideally you can get the downward slanting style that makes this easier. Super easy to hurt you back, shoulders and cause a heart attack while shovelling.

I wonder how common heart attacks from shoveling are. I assume the #1 cause of death related to snowstorms are traffic accidents. Heart attacks from shoveling is probably in the top 5.

If you didn't do that shoveling: the driveway would be MORE covered and it would MORE suck to shovel the next time. You're doing good work rat-salute-2

It's been snowing heavily in my country too, I just leave my car there and walk to the already gritted train station and enjoy the pretty snow

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 5 points 1 week ago

Lucky! I want to ride the train and enjoy the view.

If you can't afford a blower but can afford a new shovel I've seen some shovels with an additional spring handle on the front that's supposed to reduce back strain.

Also there's manual push plows but I think those are deceptively expensive, just with no fuel cost.

wouldn't it just run down the road and create sleet?

I'm just staying in the house until it warms up. We're getting nothing but ice and everything is shut down anyways. It was impossible to shovel almost instantly lol

we got hit by over 4 ft of snow here, it's crazy! Side of sidewalks are piled up to 6 ft! luckily it's light fluffy snow for now. Been shovelling all day just to clear my back and front steps, and it's still fuck'n snowing! I've seen those battery operated snowblower shovels, very tempted.
