No wonder why he left.

It is nice to be so Rich & a immigrant to The USA, so that you can just leave. I been trying to live in Denmark, for decades!

Via con dios. I'm a blue collar paycheck to paycheck schlub. I have to stay. I have to survive. In the end I will bring a strong back and a shovel to clean up the mess.

It's funny, reading your sad little statement while thinking about the countless immigrants who left everything to start a new life in America, back before the fascists took control. We really are a sad little nation now, in more ways than one.

now the reverse is happening, only for people who can MOVE. like scientists and rich people.

Whenever I see people telling American to just leave the US, I always think "so I have to be rich to move to a new country? And I'm supposed to be a problem?" It costs tens of thousands of dollars to get just the application. It's extremely privileged to assume everyone can do that.

Back during W Bush second term, I looked at migration to just Canada. It was several thousands of dollars for the application, need to have employment shortly after moving there or before then. Now it's harder to do so.

THE PROBLEM is finding employment, i assume most people already had that set up prior to landing canada. its more likely if you are planning to go to "school" there , or have a in-demand job that canada needs filling.

rich or have a Phd in stem that is niche, same goes for MDs in a in-demand specialty.

I feel like it says a lot that he believes everybody is at each other's throats right now.

Most people seem to have a lot less tolerance for unnecessary bullshit, as in just not having the energy to waste pretending.

I think it's because most people who are aware of reality are also aware that shit is very bad right now, unless you're a Nazi and it's intentional. This country is being held hostage by Nazis trying to goad us into a civil war, and it's kind of psychotic to pretend things are normal.

There are some people who seem to want to pretend the same rules as always still apply, because it makes them feel more in control. They get offended when people don't play along and pretend reality isn't reality, but ... tough shit. This is a fucking ridiculous mess.

I can't help but wonder if he views people no longer pretending to be nice about his bullshit as "everyone being at each other's throats."

ITT: People mad that Canadian celebrity won't stay in the US and fix it.

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago

I'm surprised people here aren't mad that Hayao Miyazaki rarely visited the US since Bush II.
