This was the only Ubisoft game I was interested in honestly. They spent like 8 years developing this game and in the end cancelled it to become a Open World GaaS and AI Studio.

how tf do you work on a remake of a not-that-long sixth gen game for eight fucking years

They canceled the original remake because of backlash and then started again from scratch with Ubisoft Montreal. The game got rated last month so it was pretty much complete. A lot of sources said that it was going to release early this year.

Ubisoft is pretty much dead at this point. Their profitable IPs are owned partially by Tencent now and Tencents share will increase as Ubisoft spirals towards self destruction.

Considering that game distribution costs almost nothing and it's pretty clear at this point that Ubisoft has no standards, it's baffling that they cancelled it.

It was probably woke

Ubisoft seems to be cooked. Canceled a bunch of games, there's the never ending rumors of a Black Flag remake they never announce, created another company to put their games under and sold 1/4 of it to Tencent. And the story with the Prince of Persia Remake is just weird and fucked up, since they publicly humiliated the previous dev team and now it is just cancelled.

Good. Wouldn't trust Ubisoft to make it now. Leave it alone.

It's not that complicated of a game so even a mid remake with all original mechanics and some QoL improvements would've been welcome. I'd rather have PoP than another Assassin's Creed.

Was kinda hoping this would be a hit causing them to remake Warrior Within cause that would be funny
