Roland Emmerich kept going for a while, he did 2012 and I think he did one about the moon hitting the earth recently

poster was cool. I never watched it.

also its fun to dramatically say ".... the perfect storm" whenever someone else lists 2+ things about a situation, which I presume is a line from the movie.

There is no guilty pleasure, only pleasure panting

I’d say for a movie it’s the perfect storm

more like the mid storm

[–] tombruzzo@hexbear.net 4 points 3 months ago

I haven't seen it but I'm sure the storm could have been more perfect; more symmetrical and just cleaner overall

The book it's based on is better, and doesn't rely nearly as much on "we bet this is what happened" like Open Water [2004], Wolf Creek [2005] and other movies where there's no way of knowing what happened in the "true story".

There is no guilty pleasure. There is only pleasure pingu-horny

One of my mom's favorite movies, this and Contact were big in our house growing up.

Never heard of Contact. I love an outlandish “people vs giant wave” type movie though

I remember the wave scenes being awe inducing

Watch contact. It's veery good
