My father set my first password for me.

He cleverly intertwined my childhood nickname and the year of my birth. Except, he accidently used the wrong year. He was off by two years.

Now the hackers definitely won't figure it out.

correct horse battery staple

[–] Zealotte@lemmy.zip 1 points 6 hours ago

The horsebatterystaple is no longer correct. Not after all those password leaks.

"I don't know."

So when someone asks for your password, you can just say I don't know and trick them.

I use it everywhere: ************

Edit: How do you stop Lemmy censoring your password?

[–] Cevilia@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 15 minutes ago

Just write it backwards: my password is 2retnuh

I don't think you can disable it, let me try: **********************

Nothing, it must be for security, actually it is great they have it.

[–] ferric_carcinization@lemmy.ml 2 points 8 hours ago

But free speech! It is our right as users to post ~~hatespeech~~ our own passwords!

I'd make a bug report for disabling this egregious censorship and lack of configuration options, but Lemmy's development is on GitHub, eww.

[–] yyprum@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 9 hours ago

If I tell you then it wouldn't be so safe now, would it?

There is not a single one, but many most secure passwords. One of them is Pi. This might change in the future, but it is unlikely.

[–] Nollij@sopuli.xyz 10 points 1 day ago

New password idea: start with the value of pi, up to the minimum requirements. Each time you have to change it, you add the next digit. Now you're learning!

[–] Tangentism@lemmy.ml 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That's only 2 characters and wouldn't even get past the password policy set by my office security team

[–] VoxAliorum@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 day ago

You shall not pass.
