MODERATORS
given that the whole historical mechanic is really just a VR experience of "genetic memories" run by an evil corporation (Abstergo) it stands to reason they would selectively edit certain aspects of history to suit their purposes
(just to play devil's advocate for the writers, heh)
Wasn't that implied in the first or second game, then the series got big so they dropped anything that would be too "controversial"?
It's been over a decade since I played one of these, so I could be very wrong.
