There's the Neat Genes Leap-Grandpa Exception (NGL-GE) where it counts as one degree if it's the same family and that family has a notable person in it and you want it to be fewer degrees even though that's not how it works. This means I can't use a common ancestor like Charlemagne unless I'm dating a Carolingian, but I can use one like the Prophet Muhammad if they're a registered Sayyida and the Iranian government went back through the records to prove it.
