In one confirmed case, a Ukrainian F-16 shot down six Russian cruise missiles during a single combat mission, two of them using its onboard cannon.
Daaaaaaang
Dude is on another level. Then again, might aswell give it a shot if casualties is the alternative.
And they told us video games were bad for us!
After the first one the pilot's like, "can I do it again?"
Honestly, Viper squadrons all over the world would probably do very well to work with Ukraine in training efforts, and specifically to incorporate the plethora of combat tactics and deployment strategies they’re developing. It’s all well and good if you’ve actually got air dominance and can run the thing more or less as intended, but the Ukrainian Air Force is effectively developing entirely novel areas of F-16 combat doctrine, by the simple virtue of the fact that the assumed preconditions that most NATO countries train and operate under are not terribly close to the conditions Ukrainians find themselves fighting under.
US strategy is based on overwhelming air superiority, not underdog and not cat and mouse games.
Russia's doctrine is a land equivalent of that.
See how well it's working for them.
Uh simply put there's way more to it than that. Way more. If you're trying to equate the two, yeah you can't do it like that.
