I'm not even sure I read everything on here because it was an overwhelming amount of information. Excellent representation, for me, at least.

[–] devfuuu@lemmy.world 16 points 2 weeks ago

In my case I made sure to read everything, but immediately forgot the previous item I read so went over the same ones a few times to make sure I covered everything.

Don't forget having a fat ass, being so sexy all the time, and always being right

[–] Isa@feddit.org 11 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I don't think, that I get, what you're trying to say there?

[–] sharkfucker420@lemmy.ml 39 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (2 children)

Just referencing this lol

It was popular on tumblr for a time

[–] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 1 points 3 days ago

Writes down hypersexuality

Because I have to admit, I went from never goon again, to someone have me for dinner now! In a moment.

It downright gets in the way of getting things done...FOR HOURS

[–] Isa@feddit.org 8 points 2 weeks ago

Ah thanks! This stuff (ADHD) is new to me, so that must have been before my time then. Thanks again for clarifying the above mentioned.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 4 points 2 weeks ago

They're talking about me obviously

[–] pbjelly@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 weeks ago

I gotta say, with all the ADHD stuff I’ve seen, it’s lowkey kinda nice seeing something silly 🤣🤣👌

Forgot substance abuse and suicide.

[–] RandomStickman@fedia.io 12 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

All or nothing is an ADHD thing too??

I can't be bothered to clean my room. I can't be bothered to clean my room. I can't be bothered to clean my room. I can't be bothered to clean my room. I can't be bothered to clean my room. I'm going to clean my room and the entire house.

Once you get that motivation you gotta keep going or itll be another month before it returns

[–] Isa@feddit.org 7 points 2 weeks ago

I think *freezes for 0.2 seconds* … I don't know, sorry.

^Maybe the topics outside of the iceberg itself are more like … typical or comon comorbidities?^

For me, it's mostly the "Go for broke" mentality. This is why I have a VERY hard stance on gambling. I can't have money on the table for anything.

Go big or go home.

APD mentioned 🔥(i need hearing aids)

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 19 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (2 children)

Whoa whoa I never heard of apd before and it sounds like something I might have.

I hear things just fine...hearing test was good. But I tend to not "hear" things, if that makes sense.

Like sometimes people sound like they're talking jibberish/mumbled, or it takes a long time to register and I say "what" but I'm just buying time to respond.

There are hearing aids for that?

[–] ollie@pawb.social 11 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

well, technically i dont use hearing aids, but really theyre discreet bluetooth earphones that connect to my phone and ive set it so when they connect, the android Sound Amplifier app starts, and amplifies speech but not background noise. its a little awkward but it helps :3

[–] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

How do I set this up? I need it for work, although I might need to (possibly literally) fight my co-workers over it.

[–] ollie@pawb.social 2 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

my phones a samsung, in the quick settings i can add a Sound Amplifier toggle, then i just messed with the settings til i could hear people better

edit to clarify, google pixel phones should have it too, idk about other androids

[–] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 2 points 3 days ago

I have a Samsung, but it is a tablet. So oof. Thanks though!

[–] FoxyFerengi@startrek.website 7 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Does this amplify the things spoken to you or just audio you are listening to? I have a broader sensory processing disorder, and I've really become picky about the types of situations I'll go into because it takes such a huge toll. I think it would probably be easier to live with if I didn't have to concentrate so hard on separating conversations from ambient noise

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 6 points 2 weeks ago

Yes! Thank you! Separating conversation from ambient noise. That's a part I struggle with.

And my wife wonders why I can never hear her over the air conditioner/sink/etc.

[–] ollie@pawb.social 4 points 2 weeks ago

it uses my phone microphone, and amplifies speech from what it ggets there, then sends it to the earphones. it kinda took a lot of fiddling with settings to get it to be able to generally pick out speech, and i have to hold my phone mic up to my friends like an interviewer if its very noisy, but my parents wont get me checked for it and hearing aids are expensive lol

[–] nylo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

which headphones do you use?

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 4 points 2 weeks ago

Ditto, I would like to know more.

[–] ollie@pawb.social 1 points 2 weeks ago

theyre just some lenovo ones that clip around the back of my ear, got em for a fiver on aliexpress lol, not the highest quality but they have a low delay mode which is good for this

[–] zmrl@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 weeks ago

it takes a long time to register and I say "what" but I'm just buying time to respond.

This is how I realized I was experiencing APD when I learned about it. It helps explain some of the masking that I do.

Funny part is I play music and its not usually a problem and I play by ear a lot. Occasionally it does trip me up, but the better I get, the less of an issue that is.

[–] Hashna@pawb.social 7 points 2 weeks ago

I was checking my CCW yesterday so I ejected the mag, set it down, then checked the chamber. I reached for the mag and it wasn’t there. Like, it’s one thing to louse the remote, but I somehow lost a magazine with 10 rounds in it in under 10 seconds.

…it was in my lap.

[–] crazycraw@crazypeople.online 6 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

TIL being a stoner is very aligned with adhd.

[–] sem@piefed.blahaj.zone 6 points 2 weeks ago

Yes esp. when intoxicated

[–] stray@pawb.social 4 points 2 weeks ago

The people I know who are for sure diagnosed with ADHD are very focused and productive when just a little bit stoned.

[–] sonic_veemo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 week ago

I believe that in some cases you can get prescribed weed for adhd

[–] paraphrand@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

Make sure it isn’t actually untreated diabetes
