We'd need to normalize it ofc, and you would have to write like 4 pages at least. I'm only half joking.

This just used to be how dating profiles worked before Tinder came along.

It's what I liked about Okcupid in particular before it got ratfucked. It had 1000+ questions with ranked importance to the users and built a fairly accurate matching system around it. Dating is such a miserable experience, especially the first few dates where I'm learning red flags. A lot of them were weeded out early with that.

100%.

I think there's a lot of money in just making Okcupid the way it was 10-12 years ago today. It's like how every crustacean turns into crabs in the long term right now. Every dating app has just become a different color of Tinder as they chase the lowest common denominator to extract profit.

I would honestly rather be lonely than start dating again at this point.

I don't think they've realized the connotations of putting "about me" and "pdf file" together.

If my resume is in a PDF file does that mean I'm literally Epstein?

[–] BobDole@hexbear.net 5 points 3 days ago

Hello, I’m Israel Epstein

You mean like a profile bio?

Or like in a store where they try to sell you a product there's a description about it to try to convince you to purchase it.

I mean we basically have that with services like Tinder and Bumble already. But I can definitely see it being commodified further.

Satirical depiciton of webpage, modeled after an internet store, that's being used as a hub where friendships are made in a capitalist dystopian future

I was thinking something more sincere and candid but yeah I get your point.

4 pages? Writing a fucking dating profile is too much for some people.
