I found a YouTube link in your post. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:

Even if it’s true, engagement bait video titles like this that scold people for wrong-thought only exacerbate the problem.

People with awful opinions can't help themselves but turn all criticism of their beliefs into "1984, I'm being oppressed, you're silencing dissent!"

Scolding people for bad opinions is really good actually. And there's no Big Brother "wrong-thought" at play here. The self-victimizing about having your beliefs challenged is the actual problem.

Why is scolding good? Has it ever actually helped anything? From what I’ve experienced, it exists only make the person scolding feel better. The person being scolded is almost guaranteed to double down.

Not everyone with bad opinions thinks they’re being oppressed or being targeted by mind control. A lot of them are just incredibly lonely and socially inept. Telling them over and over that they’re bad people only causes them to entrench themselves further into toxic beliefs.

It helps the victims. Spreading their hate online actually hurts women and queer people. Those actions have consequences. The affected people get to choose how they want to fight this battle, when they show mercy and when they tell their opressors, that the propaganda they spread about our comrades to exclude us from online spaces split our ranks and enable real world violence does indeed make them our enemies, even if that hurts their so very fragile feelings.

You can love your enemies, extend a hand, but you still have to defend your rights from those who cling to unjust privileges.

I'm not completely convinced, but you've made some good points. I'll take the L on this one.
