What are American's doing now to prepare for the next USA government shutdown?

What were pain points from the previous shutdown?

The next possible USA government shutdown is Feb 1, 2026, which is just over 45 days away as I post this.

Here is a countdown clock: https://www.calculatorsoup.com/calculators/time/government-shutdown-timer.php

Basically same as I did during the last one: Buy extra when I go grocery shopping and contribute to a few food banks.

im already in survival mode so can't really do anything prep wise. Just trying to keep the lights on as it is. Im basically living off of decades of prep already.

What can regular everyday people who lost their job and healthcare because of the current administration actually do to prepare? Asking for a friend.
