If it were made in Israel, it would have packed a small explosive charge inside.

I studied cybersecurity in college and it's funny how many of these nerds have a massive boner for Estonia.

Seriously I had a professor who owned a vacation home there, they fucking love Estonia. I guess being a weird tiny Nazi collaborator nation both proud and ashamed of their own history appeals to these nerds.

I actually went there with my parents for a brief vacation back in like -98. Late 90s Tallinn remains the most depressing place I have ever seen. To be fair, I'm sure they are doing better now than back then, but I also don't think the place I saw could be fixed in a mere 27 years even with good and competent governance. And - very much not to my surprise - no good and competent governance arose from that hellhole.

I saw a video once of Tallinn old town and it looked cool, but I feel like most Euro cities have a cool looking "old town".

[–] Utter_Karate@hexbear.net 13 points 5 months ago

Old towns can be found all over Europe yes, and they're pretty cool. But this was like that old saying: we couldn't see the Old Town for all the pimps and battered prostitutes.

Probably because they want to be sexpats or sex tourists, but are too racist to go to an impoverished Asian country, so they find a nice little impoverished European country instead.

There is a lesson here but it's not the one someone wearing this pin thinks it is

That's a pretty good summary of his entire career as an "analyist"

Embodiment of smuglord

[–] SexUnderSocialism@hexbear.net 26 points 5 months ago

It's the kind of smug facial expression you'd expect from a fucking nerd like this. He's just asking to be bullied.

There were countries in Eastern Europe that used to make pins. Lots of pins. You can still buy them by the bag. Then NATO won the Cold War.

That NATO deindustrialised so hard that they need China to make even pins. I doubt it is the lesson he means, but it's the real one.

[–] Evilphd666@hexbear.net 15 points 5 months ago

nato-cool It would not be economical to have them made in the Nazi nations. We need that money for cocktails and bombs.

Can someone link me to the video that birthed the maybe-later-honey emoji? And the rizz emoji? I am not sure I am getting the name right for the rizz emoji but it is a guy with sunken or sucked in cheeks.

[–] juniper@hexbear.net 8 points 5 months ago

Tempted to make an emoji out of the selfie on the left. :oops-in-china:
