I'm in northern Ontario and no matter how terrible and blinding snow it is outside ... we'll still have people on social media in our area asking things like ... 'How are the highways today? I want to go to Walmart'
It will be rain, sleet, snow, solid ice on the highway, blinding snow, no visibility and there will always be a dozen people asking .... 'How are the roads? We need to get to grandma's for a party'

A glacial ice sheet has formed over Highway 17 and it is now 100 feet deep and compacting at the bottom into solid ice ... all animal life is freezing to death in the minus 60 degree weather ... but if you're careful, you can still make it to Walmart before closing

I’ve barely had to wear my jacket this year yet in New England. No snow accumulation.I know it’s warming here faster than anywhere, but still.
We got 7 to 14 inches in upstate New York recently. Gotta love that lake effect. It’s also been quite chilly.

Heh, I put my car in the ditch because I’m used to driving in the south and was attempting to get home for Thanksgiving weekend on all seasons. The tow truck guy sounded pretty busy and it took a few hours for him to come pull me out, so I was far from the only one.

All-seasons are better called no-seasons. If you use all-seasons in the snow, you get what you deserve.
So I live in a snowy area and I drive on all seasons. I mean, I drive 3pms all seasons, but I drive all seasons.
My area is really good with plowing and salting on major roadways. Don’t get me wrong, if I moved a couple hours north I would strongly consider them. But it’s just not worth it where I am.
Well, those would be “all-weather” tires, not all-season. But many all-weather tires are not meant to be used in severe winter conditions, like the Michelin Cross Climate. Michelin even says to use a dedicated winter tire in severe winter conditions or ice.
Well, they are marketed as all seasons. There’s a limit to what kind of tire I’m willing to sport in the climate here
Or just be like me and have four sets of wheels and tires to be able to handle anything. Lol
I don't even have storage space for one full size spare.
All seasons are best called rain and cold tires. They are absolutely not “no seasons” and are appropriate in 3 or 4 seasons depending on where you live.
I’ve lived in upstate NY and driven FWD cars with all seasons plenty of times, even in deep accumulation. This was my first time with this car, which happens to have wider tire compared to my old cars, and those plus an off camber turn was the recipe for understeering into a ditch. I was driving at a significantly reduced speed and my car was completely fine after being pulled out.

I've had to use chains a few times. They are a pain to put on, but they really work.

No the first one is as everyone is fleeing south to escape the ice. The exact opposite
