Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Another 20 or so and his impeachment is pretty much guaranteed.

I particularly like this quote:

A GOP leadership aide, granted anonymity to speak bluntly, predicted: “He’s fucked.”

[–] ElBarto@sh.itjust.works 13 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That's the type of political honesty I like.

[–] tsonfeir@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He needs to grab some pussy fast.

[–] rostby@lemmy.fmhy.net 2 points 1 year ago

He needs to start having sexual relations

[–] cupcakezealot@lemmy.blahaj.zone 41 points 1 year ago (2 children)

because i was curious...

only five people have been expelled from the house and three of those were from the confederacy at the start of the civil war

He will be the first Republican

[–] themeatbridge@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

He will resign once the Republican votes get to 80.

[–] OberonSwanson@sh.itjust.works 39 points 1 year ago

Good. It took way to long for this to occur.

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 32 points 1 year ago

Technically, this isn't an impeachment vote. It's an expulsion vote. And there are no other steps or trials after this one. If 2/3 of the House votes to expel him, he's gone.

This dude is a real-life Rodger from American Dad.

From the meteoric rise fueled by zillions of lies to the epic crash to earth. The writers of that show couldn't have written a better story ark.

Unfortunately for him, he's not a fictional TV Alien and is looking at some serious time.

[–] MegaUltraChicken@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago

"The name is Reaganomics Lamborghini"

[–] Riccosuave@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

As a Rodger fan I'm going to take some offense to that entirely accurate, well analyzed, perfectly explained comparison 😂

technically real life rodger from american dad was paul lynde and paul lynde is way too good to be compared to santos :P

He looks like a henchman from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. At the end he reveals he was a toon the whole time.

[–] argo_yamato@lemm.ee 14 points 1 year ago

We'll see but somehow I doubt enough Republicans will do the right thing.

[–] Fades@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago (2 children)

An apt selection for the thumbnail

[–] superduperenigma@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

What's up with this dude? I feel like he's a completely different shape in every single picture I've ever seen of him.

[–] Rakonat@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

He's like a quantom fact, there is no detail he will not lie about, to include his height, weight or ethnicity.

It's like the GOP tried to lab grow the perfect republican, but they cut all the education funding and medical grants so this is what crawled out of the fucking tube, and he escape the lab when he told security he was a republican so they let him pass.

[–] Fester@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

Looks like a young Jiminy Glick here

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Dumbass. It's proven that if you're gonna grift the whole country, you gotta aim for the top office in the land.

[–] snownyte@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

He's got the perfect "Uhhhhhhhh I dun't know!" resting face.

[–] _number8_@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

him being a charlatan is old news! he was in there doing government this whole time??

[–] Rapidcreek@reddthat.com -1 points 1 year ago

When they get back from Thansgiving, the order in the hopper will be recognized as privileged which will start a two day clock to a vote for expulsion.

[–] aelwero@lemmy.world -3 points 1 year ago (2 children)

"padded his own pockets with campaign money, falsely reported personal loans to his campaign and failed to properly file his financial disclosure forms."

Is this all the dude did, or is it like the trump shenanigans where this is all that they can get to stick, but there's probably a lot more...?

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Some of the things he used campaign finance for is OF subs.

Like, if you’re gonna do it, at least use it for food and stuff- you can still use the money you save for OF…

[–] agitatedpotato@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I feel like that would be hilarious if it wasn't reality. I still kind of chuckled when I found out.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

I'm kinda curious as to who he subbed to. It'd be even better if it was a knitting show, or something totally PG.

[–] agitatedpotato@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago

I hope the creator knows and puts it in their promo work

[–] WarmSoda@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

Hes been running scams and commiting fraud since he was in highschool.
