NEW YORK – New York City Mayor Eric Adams today signed two executive orders that will ensure city agencies continue to make sound financial decisions that protect taxpayer dollars and that protect New Yorkers’ right to practice their religion at houses of worship without harassment, while protecting freedom of speech and peaceful assembly.

Executive Order No. 60 prohibits mayoral agency heads, agency chief contracting officers, and any other mayoral appointees with discretion over contracting from engaging in procurement practices that discriminate against the State of Israel, Israeli citizens, or those associated with Israel.

The executive order also prohibits the chief pension administrator and mayoral trustees to the city pension system from opposing divestment from bonds and other assets that would discriminate against the State of Israel, Israeli citizens, or those associated with Israel.

This is just setting up the headline that Mamdani repealed it

Can't Mamdani not simply void those executive orders?

And that will be a headline Zionists can point to claiming he's antisemitic.

[Disclaimer: I'm not Jewish] This seems more antisemite than boycotting Israel does, because this (IMHO taking into account the disclaimer) seems like someone that can't separate a government from a people, or basically "everything Jewish is the same". Similar to how many in government can't separate being Muslim, or Arab, from [insert US declared "terrorist country"].

Zionism is literally antisemitic, so that tracks.

I think the state of Israel itself has become similar to a false prophet warned about in all Abrahamic religions

How do you even divest from the citizens of Israel?

Fuck the Israeli government and those affiliated with the government of Israel. People like Eric Adam’s who put the interests of foreign governments above those of his own constituents

Supporters of the current Israeli regime are scum.

"I'm not boycotting Israeli companies, but their offerings just don't fit our business requirements at the moment."

You know, like how employers legally reject you based on ethnicity/gender/etc without saying so. Use that right back at them.
