Pipe bombs and the decomposed body of a handcuffed male were also found, the latter likely involving foul play, police said.
Foul play, you say? 😲
Welcome to the News community!
Rules:
1. Be civil
Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.
2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.
Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.
3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.
Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

It's only foul if the dead person is white and Christian. Funny the sad excuse for a news article didn't mention whether the decaying body qualified as a Master Race member or not. You'd think the wife would have known the details but the sad excuse for a news article doesn't say what happened to her. Maybe the cops killed her with their toys.
lol
"I think it's clear the deceased handcuffed themself and decided to just sit this one out. By staying very still, Mr Parkington had no knowledge of the deceased's presence and eventually they succumbed to aparhy."
Please consider finding sources for stories like this other than CBS news. They don’t deserve your clicks/eyeballs/whatever.
I've not heard this. What's wrong with CBS news?
~~Google~~ Do an Internet search for who owns cbs/paramount now. Then ~~google~~ do an Internet search for Bari Weiss, current head of cbs news. They want to own CNN next as part of the current WBD sale.
Search. The verb you're trying to use is "search". Took me three times to figure out that you weren't saying Google owns Paramount/CBS.
Also, just save them the trouble and say it's Larry Ellison, problematic billionaire owner of Oracle.
Hey block me too - I think your comment was poorly-worded as well!
CBS News is about to go full MAGA. They're firing EVERYBODY. They intend to join the Conservative Propaganda Machine, and give Fox News a run for their money.
After they're done with the news division, they'll be going after programming. That will take a while longer to cancel "Woke" programming, and replace it with new MAGA productions, and get them to the screen.
Other than the extremely poor writing in the article?
Nazi paraphernalia was also found inside the home, including writing on a wall that says "Kapitulieren nein," which is German for "No surrender."
Do all Nazis think suicide is some kind of loophole/technicality? Like maybe it's not really "surrender" if you forfeit?
They're just rightfully following in the footsteps of their ex leader who only ever did one painting properly.
It's because they are stupid and fear going out in a blaze of maddened glory. When I think no surrender it's going down with the intent of taking every last bastard possible, not bitching out and putting a bullet through one's own brain. Though I guess it's good they don't generally do that since they'd definitely shoot up a pre-school or something rather than going toe to toe against the cops.
Maybe I'm wrong, but shouldn't this grammatically be "Kapitulieren nicht"?
He was just a regular nazi not a grammar nazi.
Not quite, "Kapituliere nicht" would be the correct imperative form, but sounds a bit weak. "Kapitulieren? Nein!" would work, but not without the question mark. No surrender would be "keine Kapitulation".
No. The closest I can come up with would be "Niemals kapitulieren".
You didn't kill me you so you didn't technically win!
A representative for the investment group that initiated the eviction said in a statement, "We are deeply saddened to learn of the events that have occurred, and we extend our sincere condolences to all those involved in this tragic incident."
'Sincere condolences my ass. Gfy.
Parkington fired dozens of AK-47 rounds at officers
The Nazi was using an AK-47? Tsk. tsk.
Times are hard, period-authentic gear is expensive. What machine gun would a self-respecting Nazi have used? "A representative for the investment group that initiated the eviction" - oh great, the building was owned by Private Equity - the Nazi should have launched V2 at it.
An MP40 I guess but they're pretty expensive, the cheapest goes for 16 000 dollars (the fully automatic ones).
Probably cheaper to build one from scratch at that point if you just want the gun and don't care about the history of the weapon.
Any self respecting Nazi would have an Acht Acht in his basement.
has ... incredible capabilities
What kind of news story writing is this? Just what incredible capabilities does the machine have? Tell me! Name them. "Incredible abilities" wastes two whole words in this CBS news story and they tell me exactly nothing, they just take up space. This is more like the writing I'd expect from a high schooler, or from bad AI.
What movie is this from?
Edit: Oh yeah, it reminds me of that bit in Dead Poet's Society
Chiming in to say I am tapping out & pretty good with enough stories so eternally wretched that the fact/fiction line is too blurry at the moment.
Nazis can rot in fucking hell, but so should landlords who want to kick 60 year old couples to the street who cant afford their apartment because of medical debt and illness.
The guy was shooting at officers coming to evict him.
The news clip said "...after many years of not paying his mortgage." {0:45}
I am inclined to agree with you, because there have been cases of elderly people with pending evictions and unopened social security checks on their counter. They were simply too senile to pay their bills. {People I (mostly) Admire, Podcast, ep 100, interview with Sherriff of Cook County}
This case is not that. He chose not to pay, he chose to shoot at people, and he chose to kill himself.
Not at all saying the guy didn't deserve to get clapped, but not for non-payment of his mortgage.
What an idiot. He should have just waited for his pardon from Trump.
