News and Discussions about Reddit

Welcome to !reddit. This is a community for all news and discussions about Reddit.

The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

Rules

Rule 1- No brigading.

**You may not encourage brigading any communities or subreddits in any way. **

YSKs are about self-improvement on how to do things.

Rule 2- No illegal or NSFW or gore content.

**No illegal or NSFW or gore content. **

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-Reddit posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.

If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.

Absolutely lmao at rule 3:

Any form of discrimination, vulgarity, bullying or any conduct that does not represent a professional Law Enforcement Officer.

Those are all things I associate with professional law enforcement officers, and sanctioned by their unions and higher ups. I'm not sure what LEO are without these things. Helpful?

Looks like it is for potential applicants

This forum is an effective tool help qualified applicants to get hired, and to provide a friendly environment in which Deportation Officers, applicants, and those who SUPPORT them, can congregate and learn from one another.>

Might be an interesting place to get permission to post. Create a type of newsletter to get them to hand over some info on who they might be.

Only ~3 in 15 are passing the physical tests. Which seems to be 18 min 1.5 mi, pushups, and a 5 min sprint test

Gravy Seals.

[–] Ok_imagination@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Excellent! Now how to subtly derail their posts.

You could pose as a potential recruit with a narrow scope of focus.

State that you're not interested in politics at all, but have an urge to supress basic human rights, and want to know if ICE could help.

Don't be fooled - this subreddit looks like it's all bots. Notice the usernames on like 90% of posts and comments: "word-word-number", where the number is usually 4 digits, sometimes 2.

I wonder why anyone would bother to do this... Rage bait? Maybe trying to doxx anti-fascists who might start posting there? My advice would be to not engage at all.

That’s the format Reddit suggests for default usernames these days.

[–] alk@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

So bots. If a user doesn't choose their own name they are making the choice to look like a bot.

[–] Dasus@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Not necessarily. If you happen to use "use Google to sign up" (at least a few years back) it just generated a username for you, without asking.

It gave me the username of Big-Mathematician[3digit number] and people kept throwing math memes at me despite me not really having any interest in maths.

But yeah lots are bots, but a generated username doesn't mean they're necessarily a bot.

That being said idn wtf I even read there seemed like aome sort of modern version of Hitler Jugend.

[–] jasoman@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

So they are trying to hide how many bots they have.

[–] foodandart@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 week ago

Oh, that's a definite thing.

[–] Oka@sopuli.xyz 8 points 1 week ago

Plausible. It's got ICE in the name.
