There is something incredibly American about this
Oddly Satisfying

“Sure, we had first diabetes, but what about second, third, and fourth diabetes?”
I was about to say that lmao
Cool, but also /c/oddlydepressing
Is it though?
Cool? No, I was being nice with that part.
also.. I would like to welcome you back on Mbin if you wish ;)
Damn yall are openly hostile towards this OP who just wanted to share something they thought was cool. Im glad none of yall have ever ridden in a vehicle that's oversized for what you need and have never not once drank anything from a paper or plastic cup. Good for you.
Coca cola down the street from my house dumps tons and tons of pollution into the air, water, and land of America with their manufacturing, but this guy is the problem.
Thank you for your perspective.
My wife wanted a coffee and the kids tacked on begging for refreshers. I decided to get myself one too. I guess this makes me climate enemy #1. I'll tell Taylor she can keep flying her jet around, because I'll cancel my once-a-week indulgence.
What it really is is that, when you are transporting multiple drinks, most cars don't give much of an option for where to put them. You can scatter them throughout various cupholders, or you can put the tray on the slanted passenger seat where it will not doubt leak onto your upholstery.
In 24 years of driving I've never had a car that solved this particular problem. Making this discovery oddly satisfying.
I mean I think its cool too! The amount of time I've had to drive with a drink between my legs because of not enough cup holders is crazy, its super cool that it not only fits all the drinks, but the carrier as well. Less of a chance of spillage. Stuff like this wouldve been a gamechanger when I was doing food delivery gig work
For anyone wondering, this is a Hyundai vehicle
Yes, I didn't want to name brands lest this appear to be sponsored by the car company. It is not.
But lemme tell you about that Berry Sangria Refresher from Dunkin Donuts....
Which model?
He said berry sangria can't you read?
It's a Hyundai Tucson thanks for the help
Santa Fe (Hybrid).
Also physical buttons!
The climate and seat warmer/cooler controls are capacitive touchscreen, I think...but most of the controls for infotainment are physical. The overall UI/UX for the car is pretty sweet...save form some odd quirks (for some reason my phone will occasionally reboot when android auto is being used; sometimes if I drive the car after my wife, the seat tries to kill me), it's been pretty good.
What is very clever is that the star button can be custom-mapped. I have it set up for "Passenger talk". It lowers the radio and turns on an in-car intercom so I don't have to yell for my kids to hear me.
I assume this is the Santa Fe? I was in my friend's a few days ago and the interior looks the same. I found the "proximity membrane" (my own words) for when you were getting too close to something, interesting.
That's correct.
You mean like when you're about to hit something?
Or when you're pulling into a parking spot and it shows you how much room you have to open the doors (green you can open most the way, yellow be careful)?
Or do you mean the smart lift gate? Because that's another small gripe. I was standing next to the car trying to unlock it and my kid walked behind...we were backed in close to a wall and the trunk opened and pinned him against it.
You know...come to think of it, maybe this car isn't more safe than my old one. It seems like it's set out to kill me and my kin while leaving itself unscathed.
Yeah the green aura that shows how close you are to a pole when parking.
You know…come to think of it, maybe this car isn’t more safe than my old one. It seems like it’s set out to kill me and my kin while leaving itself unscathed.
That slowly dawning realization that it's not just that you are paranoid, technology really is out to end your genetic line.
It's crazy how not that long ago, touch screen buttons weren't considered cheaping out.
I think what happened is factories now produce touch screen buttons to such a degree of efficiency and scale that it’s actually more expensive for a car manufacturer to switch back and buy regular buttons again
Great song
This is why Americans are Plus sized. With their plus sized cars, and plus sized cups.
