I'm still really early on in the first game but I can already see how Kazuma is a good guy, but he just let's his fists do all the talking and everyone in Kamurocho wants to fight him, for reasons.
Then you take the money to binge eat some conbini sandwiches and a plate of takoyaki in your way to do some karaoke 
I spend it on alcohol at the convenience store so I can get sauced up and fight more.
Oh, that's just how Japan is. Dudes will just challenge you to fights in the streets if you look strong and if you beat them they'll give you money.

the Tokyo Metro area is one of, if not the most populous urban areas on earth with 41 million people and people looking for a fight pick Kazuma fucking Kiryu of all people to go beat up for the hell of it

Are you still playing the PS2 games? Is there reason to play those over the PC/PS4 remakes and so forth?
if you play the original Yakuza for PS2 you can hear the terrible dubs with Mark Hamill voicing Majima

he has since voiced Majima when the series recently went back to English dubs but apparently for a while he didn't even remember doing the voice acting for him, which is a fact i think is hilarious
He's never voiced Majima in any game besides the original on PS2.
wait, really? I thought they brought him back to voice him again in the more recent games
I don't play these games with the English dub, but Matthew Mercer has been Majima's English voice in every other game (which admittedly isn't that many, since they went over a decade without English dubs).
Yeah it's on PS2, my laptop is over a decade old and can't do modern shit sadly, but it's still fun!
Yakuza 0 has pretty low system requirements, it was originally a PS3 game so you could try if it runs.

No, it has a PC version, I just brought up that it was originally on PS3 to highlight that it runs on the old Yakuza engine.
I played it on a banged up laptop from ( 2014/2015 I think) that couldn't run most games around the time (I remember pubg running with 7 fps on the lowest setting with crashes 
) in 2018 and the pc version of yakuza0 and kiwami worked smoothly.
