Genres don't matter here, just that the group is fictional but with real music, so HUNTR/X and Dethklok would both be there.

(I haven't decided if the Gorillaz or Hatsune Miku count)

I would say Dethklok but I don't think dying horribly would be worth it.

Zazz Blammymatazz, on the other hand (as long as the venue is 18+...)

Gorillaz should count. Isn't it basically the cartoon alter ego of Blur?

Gorillaz canonically had a band member from powerpuff girls. I think it counts

One of the members of the Gangreen gang (Ace) from powerpuff girls was a stand in for Murdoc in story while Murdoc was in prison. (Murdoc is of course also a fictional character)

That's awesome!

Dr Teeth and The Electric Mayhem, I guess

Absolutely not Sex Bob-ombs. The Clash at Demonhead is better but they're still bad.
Which I kind of like. I mean I'd also like it if the music was good so it's a bit of a cop out, but I find the fact that the bands of Scott Pilgrim are bad very fitting thematically.

I'm genuinely kind of surprised no one said Kessoku Band (or w/e) yet

The band I'd most like to see from that show is SICK HACK

Do the Blues Brothers count?

The Dethalbum was also really good.
