The ”life being worse builds character” should also be the Democrats. I know it's because of comedic reasons, but idk, if you believe poverty should ”alleviated” or that ”extreme poverty” should be addressed, then you're saying having some level of poverty is OK and even more implicitly saying some people deserve to be poor.
It's actually surprisingly mask off from these Western liberal parties that they don't say they want to get rid of all poverty, but it's a totally achievable goal, especially in the US where there are more billionaires that anywhere else on Earth.
