We want complete National independences, while being completely dependent on foreign relations and there's unwillingness and difficulty to deal with those contradictions. The ruling class continues to fuck over it's people, who get to deal with the consequences (economic setback), the backlash (infamous deportations) and fall into racism, xenophobia, anti-communism, fascism etc.

The Legacy left by the western rules fuels inferiority, the legacy left by the Soviet Union fuels superiority. Sometimes it's both like the neo-classical Stalin era architecture is both stunning and makes us feel inferior, but it was made by a Soviet. There's also the education system I'm not gonna go into that in detail and how they dehumanized the Soviet Union.

The crem de la crem, the rulers, the petit bourgeoise, those can easily evade problems like economic setbacks, by diversifying assets. They can evade blowbacks, by fleeing the country. This will absolutely effect the type of policies that get implemented and then in turn effect the nationals. Being small nations with unique languages also makes surveillance much more manageable to quench any socialist spark.

These being small states with unique languages also makes it much more easy to survey citizen activity, especially on the internet. Everyone knows everyone and if you go against that, you are on your own.

In simple terms: Countries that depend on others, but want to have their cake and eat it too. The rich betray the poor, people are left uneducated or educated by pro-western-imperialist-capitalist schools.

Or basically Capitalism.

Their prosperity is completely tied to European imperialism. Every setback in resource extraction by EU from the Global South is felt extremely strongly by the tiny Baltic economies, so they consistently side with the most aggressive elements in European politics.

Also, Baltic politicians are not planning to stay in their countries, they usually steal enough money and leave to live comfortably in USA or Britain, so they aren't worried about long-term consequences of their policies on Baltic states.

The soviets were mean to them and so now they must be nazis forever.
