Ramsey is a self righteous dickhead with a religious kick and grind mentality. Love of money is the only value in life. "take 4 jobs to avoid debt at all costs - your kids will thank you some day".

Bullshit. Spend time with your kids. It's worth more than anything else.

I am so conflicted on Ramsey. I want to hate him so much but I’m now debt free, have a great credit score, and lived a normal life while fixing it thanks to that smug asshoke.

The envelope on my fridge also saved my marriage. My wife would worry about me buying a used dvd, the nice cheese, or anything I wanted over $10 really (we were really poor). Arguments and resentment ensued. Given my budget, Dave said to pay yourself out of your own paycheck, $10-20 every two weeks and I could only spend that for fun shit. It had to be in cash and if possible, the envelope had to be somewhere where I could see it (magnet to the fridge). For some reason, that changed my wife’s whole point of view and she was excited for me to spend my “fun-velope”. Good stuff.

I don’t know the other dude.

I feel like Ramsay's benefit is helping people who have issues operating in the American financial system a path to solvency. His advice is horrible to people who can control their spending and debt, but it works for those with issues treating money as a number.

He really does come off like a dick head huh. Delony is the mental health expert in the Ramsey company. Does a pretty interesting call in show. Delony does not come off like a dick head.

Don't follow them, except for getting out of debt. Then, buy Bitcoin (don't KYC, and dollar cost average), and leave it at that. That lasts forever.

Never heard of it so I have no opinion on it.

I did their plan to get out of debt, and it worked for us. This was many years ago before the "Ramsey personalities".

I stopped listening after that. His advice for getting put of debt was practical, but beyond that the investing advice was useless and actually cost me in the long run.

The Ramsey personalities also made the whole show feel a lot more culty. Hearing them repeat his whole stick gave me kool aid drinker vibes.

I would listen to their advice of getting out of debt but thats it. It does work. Its not the only way to do it and mathematically their are better ways, but it does work.

Yeah I read the total money makeover book awhile back and used its principles. I don't really watch Ramseys show at all. Delony's is all about mental health and he's as pro an expert that exists in that space. So I find his shows really interesting and full of practical advice.
