This AI slop just seems to be a reddit greatest hits as performed by shiny new AI slop bot pretending to be a person to generate engagement.
Ask Lemmy
A Fediverse community for open-ended, thought provoking questions
Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either !asklemmyafterdark@lemmy.world or !asklemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com.
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world or !askusa@discuss.online
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.

How'd you know this is AI slop?
Are you really against engagement though? Lemmy could benefit from it.
It's generating engagement to astroturf as a basis of using you and manipulating you and the community here. Lemmy will not benefit from it. Yes, I'm against it. I've seen what that kind of influence has on an online community.
But is this the kind of engagement we want here? If this keeps up, it’ll be just like Reddit, every post and every reply will just have no substance
So first off, reddit did/does have lots of great content, communities, and engagement. I don't think it's fair to make the blanket comparison.
Second, we should probably address it on a case by case basis. This one is benign.
First, reddit no longer has any good content, communities, or real engagement specifically because of manipulation like this.
Second, it is absolutely not benign.
The Hong Konger variant of Cantonese where they randomly interject English words into everyday sentences. This confuses English speakers and also so that my parents can't fully understand my cat either. So I'm just proficient in both good enough that I can converse with her properly. It's kinda feels like a special sort of hybrid language that very few people understands, so it makes the connection more unique.
I do this with Mandarin. It's funny.
as a hong konger, yes but also please no because my dog would be screaming all the canto profanity.
That's when you reply with the classic Cantonese parent rebuttal: 你[衰仔/衰女], 冇鬼用, 食屎O飯,對屋企一啲貢獻都冇,後悔~~生你出來~~執你返來。你生命有乜意義阿?不如快快結束啦!
(Actual stuff my mom said)
(But also don't actually say that to pets, its just a joke lol)

thanks for reigniting my childhood traumas XD

i always insult my pets just before i coddle and fawn over them.
Some long-time extinct dead language.
I don't want the little snitch to go around telling stuff behind my back 😒.
I'd probably have to go with English so we could communicate better.... but French sure is tempting:
I was under 18 when I first watched that video... 18 years ago. Now Henri and I have so much in common.
Klingon. I would love to hear my cat yell about glory while attacking a random bit of lint he found on the ground.
Edit: I realize you said "human" language, but a human invented klingons and their language, so I'm saying it counts.
My bowl is empty you P'takh
