Randall has known Binod for more than 16 years. A self-described conservative constitutionalist Christian, he blames Joe Biden for Binod’s deportation. “Biden was completely responsible for it. Trump wasn’t,” he said. In Randall’s view, Trump was “just fixing the border”, cleaning up after Biden’s failure to control immigration, and Binod was collateral damage.

🤯

Amen, I guess?

I really do hope we don't understand enough about astronomy and are completely unaware that i3 atlas is about to circle back and fuck us up.

In Idaho, he [Trump] won 67% of voters, including members of Stephanie’s family (Stephanie declined to say how she voted).

Stephanie is the wife of the deported guy and the mother of his child.

You can't make this shit up.

I'm willing to bet $5 that Stephanie too voted red.

[–] Whostosay@sh.itjust.works 11 points 3 days ago

I'd bet a newborn, comfortably.

This is a TERRIBLE and UNCHRISTLIKE Event that Trump LITERALLY TOLD me would Happen when I Voted for Him! BUT at least Trans kids are ALSO upset!

I actually got to meet Binod just a few weeks before he was deported. Seemed like a good guy, really passionate about his business and building good relationships with his customers. The article isn't joking about them struggling to find any talented mechanics. This town is starving for them in general, and I happen to know that that other kid mentioned in the article quit only a few weeks after Binod was gone (while working on my car funny enough). Real shitty. This story isn't gonna turn the state blue or anything, if anything it's only getting more red from the thousands of conservative Californians moving in. But for what it's worth, most people I've talked to about the situation have at least been really sympathetic. Hopefully I'm planting seeds there.

Its really cool to hear from a live person on the (dead) internet these days. Thank you.

They're sympathetic until it's time to vote, then they get in line like everybody else.

[–] Whostosay@sh.itjust.works 4 points 3 days ago

Those people don't think. Ever. I do hope so as well.

Several people from town and church have told Stephanie they are “not gonna vote the same way next election”. “People who’ve been conservative their whole lives are even showing up at liberal protests against ICE raids,” she said.

I hope we get a next election that's free and fair. I hope they don't vote that way in the next election, or any elections after that. But I'm not holding my breath on either account

I know people like this. I grew up with people like this.

They will express genuine, deeply-rooted outrage at an issue, and then file it away in the memory hole under "All politicians are bad anyway" when they go to vote Republican in the next election.

[–] nulluser@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

Don't worry. The Democrats will put up some old milquetoast centrist with 0 charisma and expect us to vote for them simply because it's, "Not JD Vance!"

[–] radix@lemmy.world 41 points 3 days ago

The selfish narcissistic philandering judgemental racist pedo isn't christ-like?????????

Why didn't anyone tell me sooner?

The only moral immigrant is my immigrant.

[–] 20cello@lemmy.world 30 points 3 days ago (1 children)

That's just a pathetic try to avoid responsibility, they voted for a felon

[–] Whostosay@sh.itjust.works 12 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

There is an incredibly long list of felons I'd vote for before voting for donald

[–] stoly@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

LOL Northern Idaho is the US's stronghold of Nazis. A huge number of people there completely and utterly support this sort of action.

No, but it's jesufuckingchrist-ish. 🤷🏼‍♂️
