On the one hand: fuck around and find out lol

On the other: money and corporations shouldn't be able to dictate what gets said and heard.

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago

I like your sentiment.

I hate to say it, but money and corporations already dictate this and have been in complete charge for longer than I have been alive.

[–] Jumbie@lemmy.zip 95 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Not nearly enough of a consequence.

Anyone reading a history book can see the lesson plain as day: Nazis should not be tolerated and those aligned with Nazis are themselves Nazis.

[–] astreus@lemmy.ml 12 points 1 day ago

If 10 people are sitting at a table being civil to 1 Nazi, there are 11 Nazis at the table and all that.

[–] PP_BOY_@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago

Maybe not the consequence he deserves but it's also seemingly the only thing these people care about. Remember how David Hogg got Laura Ingraham off the air by calling out her sponsors?

[–] phar@lemmy.ml 25 points 1 day ago

Remember when Trump had dinner with Fuentes and kanye west

white supremacist

Okay

Nick Fuentes

....

Fuentes

BWHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH

Next up: An interview with Nazi leader Max Goldberg!

[–] Ougie@lemmy.world 1 points 10 hours ago

Fuentes would be the first one in the gas chamber under Hitler. He's like a cockroach running toward the flip flop

[–] Ajen@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 day ago

Fuentes is a Spanish name.

Spain is a country in Europe.

Spain supported Nazi Germany in WWII.

I'm not getting your Goldberg analogy...

[–] pilferjinx@piefed.social 12 points 1 day ago

He's also clearly gay. His argument is that you're only gay if you engage in sexual intercourse with the same sex, whether or not you're sexually attracted to them.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 12 points 1 day ago (3 children)

A white supremacist in the US with obvious Spanish/Latino roots is quite literally the same as a Jewish neo nazi leader.

It shows how fucking dumb all these idiots are

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 1 points 13 hours ago

Millions of Latinos still love il Trump.

[–] Ajen@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Spain supported Germany in WWII. It was a fascist dictatorship until 1975. And last I checked, it is in Europe.

"Mexican" isn't an ethnicity, and there are a lot of families in Latin America that can trace their entire family tree back to Spain. They aren't the ones being deported.

The analogy doesn't check out.

[–] Tryenjer@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

For more examples, just look at Stephen Miller's family tree. 🤭

[–] Tower@lemmy.zip 17 points 1 day ago (1 children)

According to Fuentes, he is of Italian, Irish and Mexican descent.[21][22][23][24] His father is half Mexican.[18]

[–] chuckleslord@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago (5 children)

Oh! It's racism, but towards a racist. There were jews for Hitler, too. It's not unheard of, people acting dumb don't think through themselves being potential targets

[–] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 8 points 1 day ago

Not so much racism as much as laughing at the stupidity of someone more or less supporting the extermination of other people like himself IMO

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Oh dear God. Not everything is racism , you know

You're missing the point where a white supremacist leader has ~~Latin American~~ Mexican roots. That is the same as a Jewish person becoming a neo nazi leader, it should cause a lot of head scratches but these racist fucks are so dumb or so deep into their mental gymnastics that they don't even see that.

The Jews working for the Nazi's back in those days was quite different as they basically were desperate people doing the worst imaginable just to survive. Not excusing it, but it is remotely understandable.

This is just half wits showing the world how dumb they are

[–] Ajen@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago

Oh dear God. Not everything is racism , you know

Sometimes it's just ignorance.

He lost multiple sponsors? I could see how Under the Rock Living would have failed to realize who Tucker is, but anyone else should have known better.

[–] Lyrl@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 13 hours ago

Sadly, no, the article text states one sponsor has withdrawn. Guess the editor of the headline didn't think the truth was sufficiently click-baity.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 day ago (2 children)

He could always move to Russia and get cheap groceries.

[–] manxu@piefed.social 2 points 1 day ago

I hear inflation is even worse in Russia than the rest of the world :-(

[–] InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I'd sponser him to join the Russian Army. Then some cash to the Ukrainian drone operator that's gets him on footage that cuts out just before the close up.

[–] x666m@lemmy.zip 16 points 1 day ago

How does that little pipsqueek even show his face anymore? We all know what a pathetic little coward he is when he's not in front of a camera. There's some really, really sad losers out there.

[–] MightyPez@fedia.io 16 points 1 day ago

If sponsors are suddenly pulling their support from a guy that previously dog whistled nazi shit like the great replacement theory, then this is just performative.

"No no no, we are cool with what you believe, you just need to say it in a different way!"

[–] mirshafie@europe.pub 7 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

I actually found that interview really interesting, or at the very least entertaining.

First of all, Tucker Carlson pretty much forced Nick Fuentes to agree that racism is not compatible with Christianity. They also talked a lot about Gaza, with Nick Fuentes mentioning that he thought it was hilarious that the neo-conservative right doesn't realize that he opposes Israel for the exact same reason that the left does, i.e. not because of anti-Semitism but because he genuinely thinks that genocide is abhorrent. He then shifted gear and said he was a huge fan of Joseph Stalin.

I really don't think that Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens care at all about sponsorships or donor money at this point. They're doubling down on criticizing military action on Venezuela and Iran, they're insinuating that Charlie Kirk was murdered by Zionists for his views on Israel and demand that funding for Israel is withdrawn, and they are openly criticizing Trump. They're probably going to win this civil war for the mantle of MAGA and will likely be vindicated in the end.

[–] A_norny_mousse@feddit.org 10 points 1 day ago (6 children)

You almost make it sound like Fucker Carlson is one of the good guys. Because he isn't.

[–] Tryenjer@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Carlson is an agent of the Kremlin. Nothing he says is genuine.

[–] Keeponstalin@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah the Nazi who's famously done Holocaust revisionism is actually not anti-Semitic and opposes israel on the basis of human rights instead of cynically using it as a talking point to garner support..

Both are fascist and antisemitic.

[–] mirshafie@europe.pub 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

As I mentioned, this dude said he admires Joseph Stalin. I don't think it's wise to to absorb or internalize what he says. But there's a split in MAGA and I think it's easy to see why Tucker's faction is going to command the grassroots.

[–] Keeponstalin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah, and the Nazi's said they were socialist. That doesn't carry any weight when you look at what they actually stand for.

You're right that there is a split, but both sides are still antisemitic. It's between anti-Semites that support Israel and those that don't.

[–] mirshafie@europe.pub 1 points 16 hours ago

I don't think socialists like Joseph Stalin. I'm saying that it's a really unhinged thing to say.

[–] boaratio@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

But when demons attacked him, nothing was done?

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (2 children)

The fallout over Carlson’s interview with Fuentes, a Holocaust denier who has praised Adolf Hitler and leads the so-called “Groyper Army,” has caused fractures within the right-wing media universe over the future direction of the MAGA movement.

They already killed Charlie Kirk, there's a nonzero chance they try to kill Cucker too

trump isn't even trying to unify them, so all the factions are going to rip each other to pieces

That's always been trump's management plan, without a clear power structure below him it's hard for anyone else to replace him. But he's not used to having people like this below, it's not just corporate infighting and sabotaging projects you're not involved in, these racists are killing each other for not being racist enough.

[–] DaMummy@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Funnily enough, Fuentes is one of very few voices on the right that speaks out about Trump, even by name.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Because he wants trump to take it further and openly be genociding...

Fuentes doesn't sound like a very WASP name to me. What makes Nicky think that Stephen Miller won't send him to Uganda as well. Also isn't he gay as well?

[–] DaMummy@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago

Stephen Miller is Jewish. The leader of the Proud Boys was Enrique Tarrio. Don't bother trying to make sense of any of this.

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (7 children)

Haha I don't think he's gay. I think that idea came from Alex Jones calling him "some gay kid in his mother's basement"

[–] khornechips@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Only Nick knows what’s in his heart, but there’s photographs of him going on a bunch of ‘definitely not dates’ with a guy while looking happier than he ever has on video.
