hours ago, i posted a reply in response to a post about football player/rich snob tom brady's dog being a cloned version of his old one that says "tom brady should see a guillotine", and reddit banned me for a week because of that.

i'm gonna be using this site for a week. as a left-libertarian, i'll be letting out my far-left side. reddit is run by a bunch of bourgeois liberals. tom brady should really see a guillotine.

Why not stay on hexbear and say goodbye to reddit?

[–] Trying2KnowMyself@hexbear.net 24 points 1 week ago (1 children)

left-libertarian

Something tells me it might not work out.

[–] undead_librarian@hexbear.net 7 points 1 week ago

Someone's scared of labeling themselves an anarchist....

I haven't touched my reddit account in several years, only keeping it around because it has my dog's subreddit. Hexbear is a lot more pleasant as a user experience. There's no gamification with a karma system or trophies, no corporate bullshit or corrupt mods, and no bots. It feels like a better version of 2008 reddit that's firmly rooted in Web 1.0 forums. Social media can genuinely be posting something neat for names you recognise like it used to be.

I stopped using mine after reddit nuked third party apps. Recently I nuked my account by rewriting every comment with garbage

[–] Clippy@hexbear.net 8 points 1 week ago (3 children)

did you do that manually or with a program? i heard people say the redact ceo apparrently keeps the comments for blackmail

[–] bloubz@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 1 week ago

Send an email saying you're a European resident and want your data deleted

[–] spectre@hexbear.net 3 points 1 week ago

A lot of your comments are probably archived by a third party

Edit: Thanks for the Order of Lenin, kind stranger! order-of-lenin

Sounds like someone has a low upbear level

[–] DylanMc6@hexbear.net 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

do you have the link to that subreddit?

[–] happybadger@hexbear.net 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

https://www.reddit.com/r/dprs/

I remade it on Lemmy.ml which lets you create your own subreddits, but don't have the time to really elevate the videos to where they need to be. Now I have to top a David Attenborough documentary.

left-libertarian

what does this mean

[–] goferking0@hexbear.net 14 points 1 week ago

How the people on r/neoliberal sometimes describe themselves?

[–] kristina@hexbear.net 14 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

basically anarchists that really dont like online anarchists or the word anarchist, you can find a lot of people that call themselves that irl, especially in europe. libertarian is only really a right wing thing in the usa

[–] DylanMc6@hexbear.net 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

"Left-libertarianism, also known as left-wing libertarianism, is a political philosophy and type of libertarianism that stresses both individual freedom and social equality. Left-libertarianism represents several related yet distinct approaches to political and social theory. Its classical usage refers to anti-authoritarian varieties of left-wing politics such as anarchism, especially social anarchism." - WIkpedia

I was one of those until I realized that nowhere in the US Bill of Rights do they put any protections on the right to food, water, and shelter. Are you truly free if your basic necessities can be taken from you at any time?

[–] DylanMc6@hexbear.net 1 points 6 days ago

i support the idea of an economic bill of rights (as proposed by gus hall). also, i'd be furious if the government takes away my basic necessities. seriously!

[–] Kefla@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago

Ok hold on you better not consider yourself informed enough to be any specific ideology if you have to ask that. Read theory

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 18 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You can call for guillotines as much as you want here so long as it's not "actionable" whatever that means.

Don't tell me what it means.

[–] Kefla@hexbear.net 6 points 1 week ago

It means if it's happened in an action movie it's too socially acceptable and lame and you need to come up with edgier material

[–] CommunistCuddlefish@hexbear.net 16 points 1 week ago (1 children)
  1. ...Welcome to Hexbear?

  2. I don't know shit about footballers so I'm wondering what the focus on tom brady is, it just seems weird to focus ire on a specific rich overpaid athlete when we've got war criminals and imperialist murderers walking around.

  3. You're probably better off deleting reddit-logo , that place is a cesspool and I see you're using the vastly inferior UI of new.reddit instead of old.reddit anyway.

[–] DylanMc6@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

when i say "football", i mean the kind here in the us.

Yes I know, but that still doesn't answer my question at all.

[–] came_apart_at_Kmart@hexbear.net 12 points 1 week ago (2 children)

that's just a time out. real heads have received at least one permanent admin ban from reddit-logo for being a bit too cool.

[–] Kefla@hexbear.net 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I've been banned from reddit so many times that I used to be banned on sight as soon as I made a new account but I've somehow gone past that and made new accounts to be banned for new things sicko-fem

[–] BadTakesHaver@hexbear.net 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Good thing this site has no reddit users

[–] 9to5@hexbear.net 4 points 1 week ago

yeah hehe ... yea

[–] moss_icon@hexbear.net 9 points 1 week ago

Deleting Reddit was one of the best things I ever did and looking back I really cannot believe it took me so long.

[–] Chana@hexbear.net 8 points 1 week ago

This is why mods banned fedposting. It's your fault.

[–] jackmaoist@hexbear.net 4 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I'm perma banned from reddit

[–] stink@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 1 week ago
[–] Pieplup@hexbear.net 1 points 1 week ago

i'm perma banned from reddit for saying pipzilla (piplup kaiju oc) would stomp on ableists.

[–] Twongo@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 week ago

welcome to lemmy. we got WAY less bots and engagement bait :)
