[–] nothx@hexbear.net 9 points 5 months ago

Right?!?!? I haven’t done a sit up in like a decade and I could do more than that.

Question from the ICE job application: if you touch grass, can you get back up on your feet without help?

[–] Sabata11792@ani.social 4 points 5 months ago

Bold of you to assume they can read.

I’m old and I could pass this test. I could also pass the written test, which apparently not all of the candidates have been able to do. ICE is a bunch of out of shape idiots with a license to kill.

I honestly don't know if I could pass that right now. A few years back (maybe 2020) I dropped down and did 30 continuous pushups after not having done them for years for something at work. Some joke about something. I went into it with the attitude of hell I always did thse when I was younger and did them quickly. Needless to say I overdid it hard. The next day I don't think I could have done 1 pushup if I tried my muscles were just shot.

A reasonable me would have started doing a set of ten in the morning and night after that until I got back up to doing 50 pushups or so... But lazy me just decided maybe it's easier to just not do pushups anymore, haha

I feel like this is kinda good news? Maybe some people can actually escape.

That's one way to look at it. On the other hand, these gravy seals are armed to the teeth and itching to fulfill a lifelong dream to "justifiably" murder somebody. If they can't manage to arrest someone without their pants falling down, they're just going to start blasting.

Run a fucking 9 minute mile? And as far I can tell there isn't a time limit on the push ups and sit ups.

I weigh 250lbs and I'm almost 40 and these requirements aren't why I'm not joining the gestapo.

[–] AmazingAwesomator@lemmy.world 6 points 5 months ago

im handicapped and i could pass everything but the "running" part, lol.

[–] MojoMcJojo@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago

If they are using military standards, there is a time limit for completing the push-ups and sit-ups. About a minute or two, if I remember correctly. These numbers they're talking about though are all below military standards.

That’s what happens when you recruit from Walmart

[–] LENINSGHOSTFACEKILLA@hexbear.net 5 points 5 months ago

15 pushups in like, one set? in a minute?

either way, embarrassingly low

[–] Evilsandwichman@hexbear.net 5 points 5 months ago

Honestly this should be rubbed in the faces of every chud who was pretending the right are full of healthy, exercising people
