Antivaxxers everywhere will be disappointed to know I'm still just fine, do not get 5G, have no nanobots or microchips, and am full of spicy memes to make fun of them with. Go get your shots.

Got mine last week!

I got the 3 shots required for some international travel plans, but haven't got any since then. I have had covid a few times but I was either completely asymptomatic, or had what felt like a common cold. So it just hasn't been high up on my priorities.

holy crap. I bow to you. I have only the two initial and once per year so maybe 6 now. Honestly not sure at this point. Hoping to schedule flu this friday.

The only vaccine that's ever bothered me in any way is the shingles vaccine but it just made me tired and achy for a week. Which is still 10 million times better than shingles. Even antivaxxers should get the shingles vaccine because shingles in your eye which blinds you really, really sucks.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 2 points 5 days ago

I had shingles before I could get the vaccine and you betcha I got it asap once I was "old enough". I might have been able to get it a bit earlier having had it. I get sore arms and some fatigue with vaccines often enough that I try to get them on friday evenings or saturday morning.

Why would you get the vaccine if not for the 5G?

10... Jeez Louise. I finished at 4. Work mandates the flu shot. I'm not anti vax.

I feel 4 has given me adequate coverage and I'm not convinced the flu shot does it's job well enough.

Well if you get it every 6 months which is recommended if you are immune compromised you would be at 10, but everyone should have 5 about now depending on when you started.

[–] starlinguk@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

In Europe they're not vaccinating every 6 months. They've got their heads in the sand and completely ignore scientific evidence.

[–] halferect@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I think every 6 months is only recommended if you are immune compromised, but every 9-12 months should be good for most people. And everyone in there late 30s needs to re up their mmr vaccine.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

i dont thing MMR needs boosters i believe. its tdap that requires 10 year boosters, i had the tdap recently, also flu should be mentioned, because it gets severe the longer you dont have a flu infection, or vaccination in a while.

[–] halferect@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

Mmr is recommended to get a booster if you are in your late 30s and then you are good for life, tdap is every 10 years.

I asked a virologist and here is their answer.

Is covid still around? No one gets the vaccine anymore and covid cases have dropped to pretty much nothing. Anywhere I can find some stats on it? HealthNZ reports 170 cases in the past week which is almost nothing in a pop of 5m nonvaccinated people.
