this results in the end of RTO policies, replaced with Return To Remote policies that provide incentives for remote work

lathe-of-heaven bloomer

E: Has anyone compared the productivity between remote work peak 2021ish vs AI push productivity of 2024-25? Seems like an easy case to prove that remote work is actually better from a business management perspective. I guess the big elephant is commercial office space being some foundational structure of the financial institutions.

Companies are losing money by doing RTO. That is not the point. The point is to discipline labor.

believe me, I would love to be able to work remote again. I was remote from 2013 until this year, across multiple companies. The current company I am at, I was able to do remote work before COVID, during COVID, but this year they started using RTO as stealth layoffs, then started doing real layoffs.
