the fact that he is all like "not just liberal Zionists either! Likud stormtroopers are welcome here too!"

[–] LeninWeave@hexbear.net 46 points 4 weeks ago

At the current rate of change, we're 7 days from Zohran cackling like Dr. Frankenstein as he personally throws the switch to reanimate Meir Kahane.

[–] Llituro@hexbear.net 63 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

olivia reingold of the free press, a mouthpiece for genocide and child famine excuser, that olivia reingold?

[–] LeninWeave@hexbear.net 51 points 4 weeks ago (2 children)

I guess she's looking for a position on Zohran's media team after he's elected, lol.

This is actually a free press article. Which you'd think would give Mamdani pause, that the free press is discussing his softening towards zionism. How hard is it to say "my administration will include many people with many political viewpoints, but those who express support for genocide will not be welcome"?

He's shown he is very willing to dodge questions with the "he's mayor of New York line," saw him do it today when asked if Hamas should disarm. Makes me chuckle when people say he has to say this in any capacity considering he definitely was going to win without it.

[–] robot_dog_with_gun@hexbear.net 35 points 4 weeks ago (6 children)

the only stuff i think he actually has to say is the backing down on nypd so he doesn't get murdered. the rest of all this is just being terrible for the love of the game

my bloomer side hopes he's lying

my doomer side knows this is an unforced error at this point and worries he's going to go full obama.

only time will tell what actually happens in NYC. i will grant that he was reasonably defensive of arresting netanyahu if given the opportunity on fox news. i will also grant that there's not much explicit foreign policy power endowed in the position "mayor of NYC." i don't have much general hope for wouldbe politicians not working as part of a vanguardist movement though.

Zohran Mamdani fundamentally does not understand the reason he won

THIS. IS. COWARDICE

[–] CatoPosting@hexbear.net 55 points 4 weeks ago (2 children)

I mean...he does. That's the game, raise hopes for a candidate that will actually change things who gets into office and tells their hopeful constituents to piss off because "that's not how the real world works sweetie, grow up".

America Delenda Est

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 33 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

it's the throwback game. more recently they've been running on "nothing will change"

Zohran Mamdani fundamentally does not understand the reason he won

Didn’t he specifically attack zionists in a pretty unprecedented manner for a US politician?

And now he’s saying he’ll have Zionists working for him. Suckdems are a parody at this point. It truly is that specter or barbarism.

Can't wait for all the "but I promise DSA is actually a good organization" people to come defend this one. I will apologize for this post only if the DSA kicks him out and revokes all endorsements or support.

[–] Chana@hexbear.net 39 points 4 weeks ago

NYCDSA is entertaining a proposal to restrict anti-Mamdani criticism.

This is specifically him ignoring the DSA's position.

Shit happens in mere weeks now. Sucdems tucking tail before they even have their second election is insane turn around time

[–] WildWeezing420@hexbear.net 31 points 4 weeks ago

usually they get elected before they start imploding

Hexbear Mamdani gang stays losing

[–] Mardoniush@hexbear.net 54 points 4 weeks ago

I was kind of hoping he'd at least get elected before pulling the rug. In any case hope he enjoys losing his activist base for the election.

Social democracy once again reveals itself as the moderate wing of fascism

IIRC he had a call with Obama a few weeks back. Was probably told he has no future in Dem politics long-term if he doesn't do what he is told... and it appears that he said yes, despite the Dem party being incredibly unpopular rn.

[–] cosecantphi@hexbear.net 47 points 4 weeks ago

The funny part is that he definitely has no future in politics at all going down this road. After being a status quo preserving figurehead of NYC for a few years, literally everyone is going to hate his fucking guts.

[–] LadyCajAsca@hexbear.net 47 points 4 weeks ago (2 children)

This is the free press so I'll take it with a grain of salt, but if it is true, THE BASIC litmus fucking test is anti-Zionism. That's it. If he can't even do that then let the socdems burn. The PSL should infiltrate the DSA and purge all entryists and liberals, expel them from the party.

[–] LeninWeave@hexbear.net 39 points 4 weeks ago* (last edited 4 weeks ago)

I agree that it's a zionist rag, but they're directly quoting him. They're monsters, but they can still be sued for libel.

C'mon bring back that campaign volunteer so we can dunk

[–] darkmode@hexbear.net 34 points 4 weeks ago

Here’s how Curtis Sliwa can still win

[–] Moidialectica@hexbear.net 34 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

What the actual fuck? Is this verbatim? Is he actually stating that he will have Zionists or is that an interpretation? How could anyone figure that's something okay to say when Zionism IS genocidal???

Someone on this site called me a landlord when I equivocated their 'why you should still vote for this guy' stance to a lib telling me why I should overlook all of Kamala's flaws and still 'do the right thing'. Not gonna lie, every time Zohran opens his mouth I feel vindication.
